Horrible service and terrible attitude from hibachi chef and manager. Ruined the whole experience. I’ll never go back.
I've never been so rushed at a restaurant. My husband and I love hibachi, and also are originally from New York - so we know fast paced. We specifically go to hibachi to enjoy a slow paced meal with some light entertainment, and lots of appetizers and drinks. Typically hibachi is an hour plus, considering appetizers, the entertainment from the chef and then enjoying the actual meal. We usually wrack up quite a bar tab. New to the area, we tried Fujiyama. Not only was it so fast paced that our vegetables were raw, but we were served, the chef cleaned up and we paid for our meal all within under 45 minutes! That is highly unusual for hibachi. We had acid reflux from how fast we were served - and there was little entertainment by the chef. This was on a Thursday night at 5pm, the whole restaurant was dead. There was no reason to "turn and burn" as our waiter said is normal for this place. We had time for 1 drink, and again, left uncomfortable with how fast we had eaten. We sat there eating, staring at an empty chef's spot. It was so underwhelming. The sushi was good - but the protein from the hibachi was minimal. We were served mostly rice and noodles. Again, we go for the experience. We were greatly unsatisfied and won't be returning. We did express out concerns to the waiter, who said it is typical for this place to "turn em and burn em." This would make sense if it was a busy Friday or Saturday, but this was not the case. We would not recommend this restaurant for hibachi.
The food is pretty good - love the filet and lobster. The noodles that come with the hibachi are delicious. And they strike a good balance seasoning wise. That said, the bathrooms are filthy and the restaurant looks pretty dirty in some areas. Mix that with frequent dinner interruptions of overly-loud, preschool like birthday songs. If it weren’t for the lack of cleanliness and the constant crazy music interruptions, this place would be a good dinner establishment.
This was by far the worst experience we have had with Hibachi!! The chef didn't even try to interact with us and provide us with a true hibachi experience !! We ordered steak and chicken. The steak was well done and was suppose to be medium. One of us didn't get our chicken. The vegetables weren't even cooked appropriately and nothing had any flavor. We told our server it was my daughter's birthday and they didn't even do anything for her, yet everyone else that had a birthday had music and a small desert. When I mentioned these issues our server he said he was sorry and hoped the next experience would be better. I'm sorry but when someone mentions all these things you would hope to speak with a manager. We will not be returning!
Amazing and friendly staff. We got plenty of sushi rolls and ended up with the boat ?! The drinks here are glorious! Whoever is doing those drinks needs a raise.
You got the goods! We were hungry, and you all delivered. We basically ordered every salmon roll you had, crab seaweed salad, normal seaweed salad, tons of stuff and it was all delicious. We had no left overs! Will be back again, would reccomend to a friend!
Was very delicious and fresh - we had several rolls and they were amazing - the gyoza was to die for and the hot sake was smooth
I was extremely displeased with the service and experience. The food was PHENOMENAL however hibachi is also about the EXPERIENCE! I had reservations and was seated immediately and served waters, Saki and the soup & salad at an impressive speed. However clean up seemed to come fast as I hadn’t touched my salad yet when they asked if I wanted the bowl taken away. I agreed as usually that means that the hibachi is following closely behind… to my daughter, my friend with us and two other parties dismay it then took over one hr to not only get a hibachi chef over there but this was not communicated at any point that it would take this long (aside from a couple I’m sorry comments). The lack of communication was happening because not one person came by within that hr to offer anything else to drink. My friend had to leave the hibachi table to go to the bar and pay cash for a beer! This did not prompt anything from the rest of the staff and the way we were seated with our back to them (and a wall in the way) there was no way to get attention aside from physically getting up OR if they came and checked on us. Another party complained and so as the hibachi chef set up they brought a complimentary appetizer (which my daughter ate to her self because she was starving)…. When we walked in the chefs around us (specifically right across from us) were interacting with the entire table getting the kids engaged etc… by the time we got to our turn we got only 1/2 of the experience by far! No engagement at all with my daughter (when he was throwing veggies in people’s mouths she was taking a bite of a wonton and so he just skipped her did a quick throwing of veggies to everyone else, lit a couple fires and done) when we all literally saw a completely different and more enjoyable experience an hr prior to this!!!! I literally had our food boxes and left because at this point the experience was something no one wanted to do anymore. For just under 100$ for three people.. there is not one part of this experience that I find positive are even NEAR worth the price (my birthday dessert was beautiful but again served after they already had me paying the bill with my food in boxes but nonetheless cute and appreciated… and the food is really good). It’s ok to be short staffed and have an off night but this was hardly the case… there were plenty of people that could have assured a different experience! Big no for sure from me for ever returning… not recommended.Wow then I read some other comments and didn’t even notice added gratuity which is obviously my fault but just absolutely appalled… management response lacks any actual sincere apology because obviously the reviews are not helping for even a slight positive change…. Being short staffed is no excuse for any of this… especially when u are the ones making reservations!
Total disappointment with their to go combination fried rice. Zero veggies, no egg, and just a few pieces of chicken, beef and shrimp for $16 ! You can have a full steak dinner for less. To be fair I tried their Hibachi at another occasion and it was decent. I don't know what happened here but I do not recommend the fried rice at all.
This restaurant is filthy dirty. There is crud on the floors in the dining room that needs to be scraped off, especially around the perimeter and grout. SOOO gross! The ledges around the ceilings are overflowing with thick, greasy dust, and the ceiling light fixtures are filthy. The restaurant has lots of glass, but all of it is dirty and badly streaked. The decor is bland and pitiful. A few pictures would help. Looks like a military mess hall.Overall, the food was adequate, not so good. The performance at the grill was lack luster, and counters were coated with grease. Guy at front desk had the personality of a rock. No one came to clear our soup and salad bowls, so eating really felt trashy and crowded. I notice that the manager addresses posts with some kind of response, but those who complained about how filthy the place is months ago were obviously not heard at all. So, for all intents and purposes, the management here is INCOMPETENT AND USELESS. I'll never return or recommend. Too gross for words.Update: more empty words from the "management " of this dirty restaurant. The years of crud that has accumulated indicates that you have no idea what clean means, and you don't care at all about customer health. Save your empty rhetoric for stupid people. You haven't don't a damn thing about the filth for years.
