Place is filthy. Poor value. Paid almost $16 for three sides that were all in tiny containers.
We’re from NC, and were visiting Colorado and stopped here for lunch way back in September of 2017. To this day we still talk about how good the food was. One day we’ll be back in CO and we’ll come have another great meal!
Tin Star Smokehouse is amazing! Had the brisket, pulled pork, rib tips, hush puppies, pickles, and chili mac and cheese with a variety of house made sauces. All the meat is dry rubbed and smoked on site with a combination of mesquite and fruit wood. This means you can taste the smoke up front while being left with a sweet finish that highlights the flavor of the rub. The sauces compliment various meats beautifully, although the rib tips were succulent all on their own. The meat was perfect; neither overcooked nor greasy. The hush puppies are the best we’ve had outside of KY. And they make their own lemonade! The owners are friendly and passionate about what they do; great service, atmosphere, and flavor. Don’t let the location dissuade you; it’s well worth it to stop and try. Over and over and over again!
The food at this establishment is quite delicious! The pulled pork is especially amazing! The giant hush puppies are excellent. The coleslaw is good as well!

Thank you Tin Star Smokehouse the Thanksgiving dinner was amazing! The turkey was so tasty, the green chili Mac and cheese and stuffing were delightful, and the gravy so rich and yummy! Bucky this dinner was the best and not cooking was great.
I ordered their BBQ Catering for a work event and I was SO impressed with the Service, Food and Delivery. The gentleman on the phone was pleasant and a huge help when picking what i needed and staying in the budget I needed. Some of the best customer service I have had in a while. The food was delivered on time, hot and ready to serve. It was delicious and everyone raved about the food. I grew up serving and cooking CO style BBQ, its our own standard & Style and TIN STAR meets that standard! We will be back for sure. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Tender smoked brisket, chicken and pork. The finest campfire beans and green Chile Mac n cheese. Great bbq sauce, house made pickles and Texas toast. The 3 Meat plate is a great sampler!
First time ordering Tin Star. Its delicious! The brisket is my favorite so far. Cant wait to try more stuff here. Best BBQ in golden in my opinion!
