I will start by saying I have NEVER felt the need to write a review, especially not a negative one, on a business before. However, with our experience at Nomad it is necessary. We were initially SO excited to try this place. Pictures and menu looked really great. We were in a large group of 9 people, all adults, and were looking to grab a bite to eat while we are visiting from Boston. We were playing cards while we were waiting to order, and we were asked by the Owner to please be quiet or take our group outside because they were having a meeting in the middle of the restaurant/bar and in the middle of the day. We are eating in a public bar and asked to be quiet? As a business owner myself, I treat my customers with the utmost respect because they are paying. The restaurant needs the customers MORE than the customers need the restaurant. As a result, we decided it would be best for us to leave, at which point we had only ordered appetizers and I attempted to pay for my drink and tip the waitress before leaving for what I already received, but they told me not to worry about it.We realized we left a phone inside, and when I went to retrieve it, the waitress fought me when I tried to explain to her that we didn’t leave because of her & I was sorry she had to bring the apps out (as it was not her fault we left, it was the owners) and she responded by attempting to remove my credit card from the back of the phone insisting she would ILLEGALLY be using my card to pay and REFUSED to give me my phone or card back until the owner came over and made her. She also was extremely immature and mocking me.My biggest complaint is the lack of respect for the customers, the customers are the people who KEEP THE BUSINESS RUNNING. As for food and location I have no complaints as we did not get a chance to eat our food. I hope the owner sees this, and thinks twice before treating a customer, who is PAYING, with such disrespect. Also the waitress deserves to be fired. Hope whoever sees this has a better experience than we did.
My son and I stayed at Origin for his birthday while we went to his first concert at Red Rocks. These burritos are amazing and the green chili sauce was ?
My partner and I visited because it was on some “Best of” list, but I couldn’t venture a guess at what they are the best at. We sat inside and the music that was playing was very cringe. Every song was like a right-wing wet dream about the second amendment. We ordered chips and salsa that were $8 for some reason, and the esquites which was actually pretty tasty. We wanted to order tacos, but the prices are outrageous for street-style sized and a la carte. See the menu for yourself - I won’t go on about something I didn’t order. We also ordered a pitcher of margaritas because it seemed like a good deal for ~5 margs for $25. Unfortunately, I don’t think it ended up being a good deal because I definitely didn’t feel like I had half a pitcher of margaritas at the end of it.All in all, not worth a second trip. I’m rounding up to 3 stars… I don’t think it was quite 2 stars, but it’s just not a good value or atmosphere here.
If I could do zero stars I would… not only was this place insanely overpriced but it was also some of the poorest prepared, un seasoned, badly made, flavorless, tough meat and sad excuse for tacos in general. I could go on about how much this sucked but I’ll say this I spent $65 to throw away my food because it was borderline inedible and proceeded to get Taco Bell for dinner because it is closer to actual Mexican food…. DO NOT waste your money or time here.
I went there thinking it would be a nice experience, truth is that when we got there the bartender didn’t even pay attention to us until I had to get her attention, then she didn’t greet us with a warm smile or a welcoming tone.We waited 25 minutes for the server to come get our order outside, took around 15 minutes to get some chips and salsa that we were considering to leave. Then she took our order, food came 40 minutes later, not a lot of people there to wait that long, she checked once on us and forgot to bring our check when we ask for it, when we left she didn’t even say thank you or have a great day.Food was expensive, small quantity in the tacos, salsas were not good because they were watery and low on flavor. I am not going back there again.Who made this review? a MBA who managed different restaurants and hotels in the past years.I would suggest checking management training and employees.
wish I could give this place 0 stars. the staff was nice, but the lady who is apparently apart of management was extremely rude and completely ruined my dining experience. Every time I brought up a concern, she would roll her eyes or get extremely frustrated. Not to mention, I found a hair in my esquites. ICK. Also, my son got the elk taco. I can say, with confidence, that I have found better ways to spend $15.50. All I can say is, if you are considering dining at Nomad, expect mediocre at best.
Fun little bar with great service, friendly bartenders, and awesome tacos and drinks. Connor and Russo were the best! Can't wait to visit again.
Had been looking forward to trying this place for quite some time. They've been developing this area near Red Rocks for quite some time. It is a perfect location at the bottom of Origin Hotel Red Rocks. You are right off of I-70 and can easily run up to the mountains or down to downtown Denver!Beautiful atmosphere. The outside seating area is awesome. Decorated with string lights and firepits, it is a great environment to relax have a drink and good food.We sat inside which was also beautiful. The food was good but a bit over priced for what you were getting. Great taco options and flavors. Nachos were good as well. The service was a bit lack luster though.Overall positive experience. Looking forward to checking it out again.
Loved the service provided at this restaurant, I was able to sit outside and enjoy the gas lit fire pit. Server was great!
The beer selection was great, and the nachos were phenomenal! Kristine took great care of us and was super friendly! We'll definitely be back in the future. Would be a great place to stop after a hike at Red Rocks!
