You go here to support a local shop and their nice views - but the coffee is just ok. If you’re a tea drinker or like flavored coffee things you’ll probably get more out of this shop than the straight latte drinker.
Higher Grounds is a great place to visit in Golden. They have two outdoor patios and the inside is full of character. Service was fast and friendly!

This place is cozy, unassuming and feels hidden (even though it’s not). It’s the first coffee shop in golden that isn’t completely full of “weekenders.” Every time I go, there’s Mines students and faculty, 2 friends talking, someone reading for pleasure. So nice to feel like they aren’t just churning through people, it’s truly a come as you are and enjoy kind of place. The owner is so kind and truly care about his shop.

They had black tea of my choice and we sat outside which I loved. Quite popular around Golden and likely to have many people inside I guess.
A truly great coffee shop! The interior is very uniquely Colorado, while also being hip and cozy. The menu is impressive, but the prices are very reasonable.I ordered the Pumpkin Chai Latte and was impressed with the flavors. Way richer than Charbucks chai lattes, and the pumpkin flavor was unusual because it actually tasted like pumpkin - not just the spices usually associated with pumpkin pie, but the actual pumpkin flavor as well.A great coffee shop, highly recommend.
