Such a neat breakfast place in downtown Golden! Stopped by here about two weeks ago, twice in a row, and was simply amazed. Kind and truly welcoming staff. Great morning coffee, and their breakfast burrito... wow! I'd definitely choose them again.
Great cafe for meetings, workspace and awesome food. I work locally, and had a question about the portion sizes of the mimosa I ordered, and had just sent an email to the management asking about the change since my last visit. The shift lead came over and was super authentic answering my question about changed portion sizes in the last few years. They let me know to mention I work in town to get the local discount next time, which I appreciated. Thanks Rowan and team.
The atmosphere is nice. However, the food that I ordered did not have much taste. The veggie sausage was nice. The hashbrown had no spice at all. It can be improved. Pastries looked good though.
Popular place and we'll deserved. Great coffee, muffins, meals, alcohol and more. Exceptonal service. Located in old river rock armory. Plenty of outdoor seating.
I used to go to Cafe 13 almost every weekday. It was my top recommendation to others looking for a cafe or place to grab food together. It was a great environment to settle in, hang out, have meetings and get some work done. Now I still occasionally call in orders to go because a lot of the food is ridiculously good. But the wait times for just going there to dine in or settle at a table to work have become downright inexcusable. Staff moves at a leisurely pace and a line that would take another establishment ten minutes to cruise through takes them half an hour or more. It seems the place has gotten comfortable with their following and has no issue with making people wait and wait. Strongly recommend management step up and address this problem in a meaningful way; it's affecting reviews and customer loyalty. I've seen a pattern in this review section of shifting blame or otherwise denying responsibility when reviews mention the wait time. But the truth is, this problem can be addressed. Give some attention to staff culture (productive and efficient!), specify clear expectations (what is a respectful wait time to ask of the average customer? What specific things can employees do to meet that wait time?), and put some focus into streamlining the process. Cafe 13 has too much to offer to not do better than this.
Great atmosphere, service, and food. I got a breakfast burrito, and a Cafe au lait, and both were really good. I recommend sitting outside, on the side of the building under the trees.
All lunch items ordered by us were delicious. Pastries and espresso drinks available, as well. Indoor or outdoor seating.
Absolutely delightful place for brunch! Really tasty food, great portions, friendly service, cozy and comfortable. Has outdoor seating, so bring your dog and sunglasses! Thank you so much for making my first trip to Golden a delicious one!
We had gone for lunch and placed our orders at the counter. We watched as everybody else seem to get what they had ordered, while we waited. And waited. After 90 min, when we asked, we received an apologetic response. Apparently our order had been delivered to another group who had eaten it! We received a replacement in 15 min and the food and presentation were both good. But unfortunately by then we were tired after the wait and had lost our appetites.
