NEW REVIEW May 2022: New touches, new staff and still some amazing food. It's a great place to come and chill alone or with a large group. ORIGINAL REVIEW 2017...Café Vino has been my go to a long time. It's consistently fresh and refreshing! Staff is impeccable and the chef...Simply Amazing.
Everything was great, except the main course... my $22 cheese burger was overcooked to the point it was dry. Even with the subpar entree we had a great experience though, from the staff to the environment. I'll give them another chance and order something else next time.
I have been to the Cafe for 13 years now...we had stopped going very often the last few years leading up to COVID because the vibe had become a bit Too Cool For School. Management changed after COVID, and the Cafe is *transformed* into an accepting and positive space to meet with friends and have an excellent time! The food is delectable, the wine flights and cocktails are the best we've had in Fort Collins, the staff (we had long interactions with no less than four different servers / hosts throughout our meal) are smart / helpful / professional / engaging, and the ambiance is bright and lively. Excellent music, not overbearing or awkward, and supportive of the overall vibe...basically, the Cafe just works! We are so happy to see the changes there, and strongly encourage the uninitiated to visit it for really any occasion. Excellent date spot, nice place to just have drinks and small plates, and capable enough to have a formal outing or even a customized event in their separate dining space. Really, the Cafe feels like a home away from home.
Great service and interesting menu. Cafe Vino is located in a charming mid-century house close to the CSU campus and Old Town Fort Collins. The staff were friendly, respectful and helpful and our meals were delivered promptly. We shared the handcrafted pizza and an excellent California Cabernet Sauvingon from the early menu selection. Menu prices were moderate to high but we were pleased to support a local favorite. The dining room was comfortable and spacious with a pleasant ambience. Sound levels were comfortable and we could enjoy a leisurely meal while holding a quiet conversation.
Fun atmosphere and great music. The food is very tasty and fun cocktails.
We came for dinner never being here before. Should have made reservations as we got put at a tiny bar style table made for drinks. Our plates had to be balanced and we're halfway off the table. Not a large food selection, ordered a pizza and prime rib. The pizza was good but not worth $20. Prime rib was okay, the mashed potatoes and veggies were very good. It seems this would be good for wine flights and toppas. Do not recommend for an actual dinner.
Can't understand the menu at all. Apparently salmon gravelock is delicious, and that's all you need to know. The description of the food reads more like poetry than an actual understanding of what has been cooked and/or served. No ingredients or possible allergens are listed. If you want to write an ode to food that's fine don't make it your menu. All that said the food is good it is delicious but whoever writes the menus should be fired ASAP.
Upscale restaurant with a welcoming feel towards everyone… modern with a great atmosphere.Lauren and Chad were my people at the bar and they were incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly.Cafe Vino dinner menu is off the charts and it’s very obvious that the chefs in the kitchen have it going on with their flavor parings. The wine list was very diverse and I didn’t even look at the Cellar Menu. For food, I had the Salmon Tar Tar (salmon belly/seaweed with rich tobiko) as an app and the Pork Osso Buco as my main dish. They had no problems converting the pork dish I had into a dairy free dish. The pork fell off the bone and the flavor pairings within the dish between the mustard seeds in the succotash and demi glaze were out of this world. If you pass through Ft. Collins without coming here, you are doing yourself and your pallet a disservice.Well done, Cafe Vino. I will certainly be coming back when I can.
