We first went there last night, and it was absolutely *fantastic*... the food was exquisite, the environment unpretentious but elegant... but BEST of all was our server, Jacques (!!!). He was extremely attentive, delightfully engaging, and made certain of every special request we had (& we were quite needy!). He was caring, gregarious & truly provided the best service I can every remember having. He, as well as the food, the atmosphere, the owner (who is equally delightful and caring!) made for a most lovely evening. I would DEFINITELY highly recommend.
Fort Collins is sadly not known for its renowned food scene but Bistro Nautile is one of the few that reign supreme in this lackluster restaurant town. My girlfriend and I had reservations before a show at The Aggie (which I’d recommend for any concert-goer as this restaurant is literally right across the street from the venue) and when we were greeted we were made aware that Resy automatically put us at the bar which was a little odd. However, the hostess made sure to check if we were comfortable with sitting at the bar or if we preferred a table. We ended up taking the table and were taken care of by a very humorous server. His jokes and sarcasm kept the conversation light and we immediately felt welcomed although we were jokingly hazed for being first timers, who they call “guppies.” A specials board placed out front mentioned an arancini appetizer which was out of this world. The creamy burrata mousse paired very nicely with the flavorful pea pesto and heavy parmesan infused arancini. For the entrees, my girlfriend chose the duck and I ended up settling on the sea bass. As a started for the dishes we were offered an array of salads which ultimately came down to the beet salad and the classic caesar. Both were fantastically dressed and well balanced. The duck was cooked to a perfect medium and the sea bass swimming in some sort of vegetable/seafood broth was to die for. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody visiting Fort Collins or somebody looking to celebrate an anniversary dinner without the hassle of securing a reservation at a fine dining restaurant in town. The atmosphere was relaxed and the entirety of the staff seemed to be enjoying their jobs which was directly translated over to our experience. 10/10 great job y’all!
I ate at the bar and was served by a man who goes by "Meet Sauce". He was quite witty and had some wry jokes. He served me two drinks that I've never had before - a 'Frisco and "fun with ball and chains". Both were tasty.I had the pate for an appetizer. This was my favorite dish of the three that I ordered. The pate was silky and very tasty. There was a compound butter that was like gilding the lily. There were two delicious house-made pieces of bread that were very fresh. With some cornichons and some micro-greens, it was a well-rounded dish.I had the beet salad next. I found the dressing very sour; adding beet to the bite helped cut through the sourness. The sesame seeds didn't seem to add anything to the salad. The third dish was the sea bass nage. The fish was perfectly crispy. The standout part of this dish was the fish fume; it was full of flavor and I couldn't stop drinking it.
Cool and mellow ambiance. Really nice vibe. Was greeted by one of the owners, Kat. She is beautiful and awesome. Before dinner, I drew a crayon portrait of her on the paper-covered tabletop. For dinner, we had the duck confit rillete and the mushroom pate (Hazel Dell Tartare) appetizers, followed by entrees of Beef Bourguignon and thinly-sliced rare Argentinian Chuck Steak. All the food was beautifully prepared and excellent. A couple of us also enjoyed the beautiful French onion soup, and we all enjoyed the fact that is was "Fancy Wednesday," which afforded us 25% off all bottles of wine--of which were consumed 4... Hey, it was a twin birthday celebration. For dessert, we were treated to Strawberry Paris Brest, composed of a profiterole-type sponge mounted with vanilla pastry cream and macerated strawberries. Absolutely yummy.I would highly recommend Bistro Nautile for a great dining experience. We will definitely be returning soon.
My Friend and I went there first time to try the Great Plates Special, which happens once a year in Old Town. Their Special deal was shown in the photos here. I like all the flavor in their dishes. The amount of food was limited. The main course was a pork belly dish which I love but I think if it came with some bread to soak up the delicious broth, it would be perfect. I haven't tried their food on the menu yet, but definitely I will go back again. Their service was very good too.
Sadly, yet another overrated FoCo place I have to give poor review to.We've passed by the Bistro many times in the last few months and couldn't wait to go in and check it out. The reviews were wonderful and place seemed nice from the outside. So we finally visited last Friday, to a huge disappointment, unfortunately.Came in for a 7:30 dinner, place was about half full. Got seated and offered the menus. Surprisingly pricey place for it being in FoCo - I compare it to NYC prices almost, which is...surprising, but ok, maybe I don't understand the economics of the biz in Northern Colorado. The menu was quiet sparse and with the relative lack of wine by the glass I opted for a New Belgium lager - the highlight of the meal, unfortunately. We had:- Beef Bourguignon -- overfried, super oily, looking nothing like the real thing would look like dish. When I showed the pic to my French coworker he quipped "that's the most amount of green I'd ever seen on the dish". So this should truly be called "fatty fried beef cubes in more oil with some herbs and wine", not a hearty french stew you would expect. Ate about 1/3 of it and didn't go further since all the oil/fat was making me nauseous already, and I love fat meats and pork belly etc. $32 dish...I can't believe it.- Onion soup -- too much wine in it, I'd give it 3/5 at most...my wife didn't finish even 1/3 of it.- Garlic Gougers were great, but ...why wouldn't they be..it's just fried dough with aioli and garlic :)To sum up, terrible food (mostly), OK service, lacks atmosphere to be a cozy bistro and pricey. Yet another, unfortunately disappointing FoCo place that makes me wonder why is it hard to come across good "fine" dinning options in our town, even when the chefs try...
Visited last night for Valentines Day. Perfect date place in Ft. Collins. Would be great for an after work happy hour too. Straightforward menu, staff treats everyone like an old friend and the food is incredible.
Best food I’ve ever had in town, and awesome service! Everyone there was so nice, and the food was so good and refined. Really recommend the dirty martini with pickled okra (see photo lol) and the bone marrow.
I have always loved this restaurant. But the last time we went it was so good. I ordered trout and it came out tasting buttery and tender . Ive never had a fish prepared that way before . It was so good. My only complaint would be several times I've had my dish be cold or not warm when it arrived to the table. But flavors are amazing.
Had tasty food (Beef bourguignon was especially good), a yummy cocktail, great appetizer, and friendly service! The environment was both relaxed and felt like fine dining all at once. Would have totally taken advantage of the Wednesday half priced bottles of wine if we weren’t driving home after. Perfect for a bday celebration with a friend or a date night! This cute place adds something fresh, modern, fun, and classy to downtown Fort Collins!
