I’ve been in Fort Collins for a while now. This location I always thought was really cool, but nothing ever stuck around! *Backdoor Grill has entered the chat*This place has always hit the spot for me!Sometimes it’s busy and the servers are a little stretched but they know it and acknowledge it!Food is great! It’s not 5 Stars dining it’s really good and filling bar/American food. Classic. Atmosphere 11/10! The staff is great and drinks are awesome!Happy hour hits different! It’s slowing becoming my home base. Once you know a few people who work here they make it feel like hanging out with the homies. Rooftop can’t be beat! TrainShots (if you know, you know)10/10 would recommend! Go Rams!
Sadly the worst experience I’ve had in Fort Collins. I was excited to come here and visit the rooftop for the first time and try a pina colada.My partner and I sat ourselves as the sign says to, and continued to sit for 20 minutes without being greeted. It wasn’t terribly busy either, the servers just looked right past us, and also walked right past us and served the newcomers at the next table.I felt uncomfortable and went to the bar to try to order instead, made it obvious I was ready to order when he was. The guy looked through me and walked away, no greeting or service again. I waited for a few minutes and nothing. The severs also had time to stand around and chat to each other, i noticed. So we left.
Visited with my partner today (around 3 on a Sunday afternoon) for a beer. Had a water and a quick chat with the bartender inside before going to the rooftop bar and grabbing a seat. About 20 minutes, multiple servers walk by taking orders including from the table directly adjacent to ours, but it was like we were being some actively being ignored. Figured we’d try ordering at the bar so my gf went up and again, bartender didn’t even acknowledge she was there??? I don’t know if we somehow made some kind of social faux pa or something, and if we did please correct us, but we felt like we were being intentionally ignored for about 20 minutes before deciding to leave. Sign right when you walk in said seat yourself, so I don’t think it was that..? Anyway, weird vibes.
We had a great time here. We were in town for Meter school and bunch of us stopped in for dinner and drinks with a vendor that ended up paying for us all. Thanks John!! Food and drinks were great and the staff were friendly and helpful and even more fun than some of us!! We will be back for sure!
This place is delicious and highly recommended! Definitely will be coming back soon! The staff and vibe were both amazing and the food is soooo good! We will definitely continue to make the 40+ min trek to dine here with friends!
One of our favorite restaurants in Fort Collins. Can always find a seat and have great food & service. I usually get a turkey burger and my husband has tried nearly every burger on the menu - satisfied each time! Highly recommend.
If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would!I’m from Steamboat originally and I am so thrilled this restaurant has a sister spot in Foco now!! ?? Amazing food, awesome staff, timely on all acounts. Cannot wait for the sumner to enjoy the Tikki Bar on the rooftop again!!You have to try the Black Mamba when you can splurge- it’s worth every penny. I love the LaFreak too as intriguing as it is!Shout out to Dave for being an awesome owner and for keeping the best crew around!!! We love BackDoor!!

As a longtime fan of the original Steamboat location, I was looking forward to trying the Ft. Collins Back Door Grill. It far exceeded my expectations. Amazing burgers (we had the G6 burger and it was fantastic), yummy appetizers, and tons of great beers on tap. The atmosphere has the charm of a classic college town hangout, while also being a fun, family friendly burger joint. Great service too. We drove an hour to try it and can’t wait to go back!
Amazing food, great service and atmosphere!! We’ve been to the Back Door Grill in Steamboat many times and love it. The one in Fort Collins was just as good.
