absolutely love the back yard. good food, mellow groove, cocktails, shade on a sunny day, happy people, great music. AND when I lived close by, my kitty would follow me there & hang out in the tree house late nights. oh the memories

Holy Moley is this a great restaurant! I ordered the roast mole with avocado sauce and it came out great. The dish's molar mass didn't do any good for my waist line, but that's not why I came. My waiter, Amol, was kind and professional. He had great chemistry with all the patrons. When I asked a question about the menu he didn't know, he burrowed as far as he could to find the answer.
In this crazy time, I am trying to support local...but, was super disappointed today at Avo's. Every thing was very dry and seemed old. Two Tempe Burger's both overcooked and dry. The pickles and lettuce were OK, making me think that they had cooked the Tempe and the buns hours ago, and just put on the toppings when I ordered. I was actually surprised that after calling in my order and being told that it would take 15 minutes, and then showing up at 10 minutes with my order ready. I should have known...because typically Avo's says "15 minutes" and it is really 25. Obviously, everything was cooked way ahead of time, and then they just assembled it and waited for me to show up. Also, I though I would pick up a couple of deserts for our dinner. Bad decision. I think my chocolate cake was way made before the "stay in place " mandate was set into order. it definitely tastes at least a week old. I get it that a restaurant does not want to throw away product and they are doing whatever they can do in order to stay solvent. But serving crappy, old food will not help at all.

Great intimate venue. Excellent sound and sight. A real listening room. The bar and restaurant are separate rooms.
