Amazing cocktails, food and service!
Best dinner my husband and I have had in a very long time. Delicious food, great drinks & amazing service. Worth every penny!
Wow! What an amazing experience. This restaurant looks a bit sleepy on the outside, but inside it has amazing ambiance. We sat at the bar and the bartenders not only made incredible craft cocktails with local spirits, but entertained us with fabulous conversation. The steak was a little underdone, I ordered medium-rare and it was cold in the center, but I ate it anyway because it was delicious, and took half of it home for breakfast. It's a bit pricey, but totally worth it for special occasions. The price of the meat includes no side dishes. Sometimes I prefer that so I can get two vegetable dishes instead of a starch. Spicy, warm cornbread is served in a cast-iron pan with butter. Overall, it was a lovely meal. We will be back again, for sure.
Everything they have is amazing!!!! The service was second to none.
The strip steak was phenomenal. Cooked perfectly. The sides were very very fatty and heavy. The potatoes and macaroni were very heavy and all tasted like butter and bacon fat. First bite is pretty good but there was no relief from the fat! The Brussels sprouts were deep fried and soaked in balsamic vinegar. The sauce on the asparagus was one again a heavy creamy sauce. We were very impressed with the meat but $300+ and a little disappointed.
Four of us were vegetarians and they whipped up a dish for $35. I had a steak which was presented on a tepid iron plate and the steak was lukewarm. No garnish or anything else for $55. Excellent asparagus side dish with Bearnaise sauce.
The New York Strip was excellent even without the gourmet sauces. The wedge salad was superb! The meal was pricey but worth it. I’m visiting from NC. Best meal I’ve had in a long time!
My husband and I, especially him 45+yrs, have been long time customers of the Ore House. We've checked it off of our list. The food was good but it wasn't worth the price. They cut some on their long time specialties from the menu. They seem to be catering to high end clientele but they've lost the original things that made them so good! Off we go, with a bit sadness, to other places.
Had just come from Santa Fe and was desperate for a decent meal. Didn’t have a reservation but the wonderfully efficient young lady out front snagged us a couple of seats at the bar, where the magic takes place! The simplest of meals that is so difficult for many was child’s play for the Ore House. Filet with a side was perfect and pray they still have the secret stash barcode gig. Thank you so much!
My sister, partner, and myself, dined at the Ore House on Saturday, April 9th, and from start to finish this is one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. This was a birthday celebration, and it did not disappoint. Our host greeting us with a smile and was pleasant to talk to as we walked to our chef's table in front of the chef's line. Our server was a consummate professional. She had great suggestions, and was a hospitality pro. The wine list was fantastic, and wine service was on point. The three of us are in the hospitality business, we travel frequently, and we were blown away by the attention to detail and the kindness of the staff. I even walked away with a gift-wrapped half bottle of gruet as a little birthday gift. If you are near Durango, do yourself a favor and make reservations at The Ore House. Delectable food, amazing service, and lovely ambiance await you.
