Food here was great! Staff was super-friendly and helpful in making our selections. Prices were very reasonable and portions were plentiful. They deserve the highest of recommendations.
My wife and I were exhausted after hiking around Mesa Verde and did not want to have to go far. Nini’s was right across the street from our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. There were only 2 people working, but they were able to get people served pretty quickly. The atmosphere is kind of funky (which I believe is word they used on sign in restaurant to describe their place). Salads we got were good. Plenty of food and reasonably priced. We ate out on back patio which was cool and quiet (front was kind of noisy). Even though staff were really busy, they were very helpful and pleasant.
The first time I came here was with family, second time was with my girlfriend and it still lived up to my hype! My favorite taqueria in Durango!
Select from nine or ten salsa flavors. All fresh local made and flavorful. These uniquely complement all the food. I had fish tacos made with poached pacific cod. Wife’s chicken was most flavorful I’ve had. Must have been marinated. Far exceeded expectations. A real gem for fresh Mex. Don’t miss it.
My wife and I had lunch here. Best salsa I ever had! THEN… we left and my wife left her wallet (with her ID, credit cards, etc) hanging on a hook! Called back after we drove 4 hours away and the owner VERY KINDLY shipped it for us!! Good food AND integrity!
Ordered ahead went to pick up stood at the counter for around 4 minutes no one was in line. There where two people behind one at the grill and the other by the meat and such. They both saw me. Never once did they say one single word to me. Ended up walking out and getting food else where. Was super disappointed because they usually have great customer service.
Have to confess; I forget how good this place is. Totally another local staple, try the ghost pepper salsa!! It'll hurt, but it's got flavor!!
Our family is from Austin, TX so we know a thing or two about tacos. Every trip to Durango we eat at Nini’s at least once if not more. Love the different salsa options. Margarita’s are good too! Nice patio out back where you can bring your dog. Great local place!
My family of 4 had a great experience at Nini’s. The food was hot and delicious and the service was great. The 2 guys working were extremely friendly and chatted with us while we looked at the menu. The portions were very big and the restaurant was nice and clean. The price was very reasonable, too, especially with the big portions.
Very poor quality food. Stomach was on blast after eating their home chilli nachos. Felt sick all day. Feel like puking and didn’t feel great exploring the town after. The chilli needs to be made more fresh. Who knows how long this has been in the fridge. Will never eat here again and I don’t recommend anyone to get their nachos with their chilli. Worst decision ever made it my life. Good luck to all who enter this place.
