Stopped for lunch with a friend after visiting the hot springs north of Durango a couple of days ago.The service is excellent and the food was cooked fresh and was very tasty! My carne asada meat was cooked perfectly (that doesn’t happen very often when ordering carne asada in a restaurant)!! My friend had the Sope’s and said they, too, were excellent!Prices are very reasonable as well!We highly recommend Nayarit.

Very authentic Mexican food with a lively and friendly atmosphere. Many of the dishes focus on sea food but everything is freshly prepared and drinks are poured a little on the strong side.
Authentic Mexican food in Durango! Nayarit has been a favorite of mine for years and I'm happy to be able to say that there food has been consistent and delicious since day one. I recommend exploring their variety of margaritas. My favorite is the mango with a red chili rim. I also like to mix and match the different street tacos on there menu and I never forget about the side of avocado.
We were on a road trip and arrived in Durango late on a Saturday evening. We asked at hotel for a recommendation and she immediately said Nayarit. Wow! We were so glad we visited. Traditional Mexican food with their own twist. It was busy but staff was attentive and sat us quickly. I had a shrimp dish in a spicy but not too hot sauce. My husband had the shrimp stuffed rellenos.
It was delicious with great service.
I visited this restaurant once, Eduardo provided great service. I'm not a tequila or rum drinker, so he suggested Playa Nayarit (terrific recommendation).On my second visit, C**** was our server. So, I had to rate 1 star. Terrible service! 30+mins of waiting; asked where the food was; she apologized she didn't put the order in. She had brought the wrong order over AND my drink order was wrong... this is not a Playa Nayarit.
