The food is delicious ? authentic Mexican food. By far the best in Durango Colorado. Clean restrooms and front of the house.
Really good food but there were some things on the online menu which werenât available. One of these was a mole someone at our table really wanted - kinda a staple. Servers were very nice and prompt but the bar was very slow! Overall a fun evening but could have been better. Will definitely try again.

Favorite Mexican food restaurant in Durango. Great salsa, tacos and a variety of tequilas.
We had a reservation at 7pm for 3 people. When we arrived they said that they didn't have any tables available. Not sure the point of making a reservation if they don't reserve a table for you. Not happy
We made reservations on Open Table for 5:30 only to find the restaurant closed over the holidays. Iâm glad they close down to celebrate and give their employees time with families, but coordination through OpenTable needs to be improved.
Great place to go for dinner. The food is great, the service is outstanding.
Best Mexican in town! The Mango Marg is spot on! The fried ice cream is delicious! And the salsa is hot! What else do you need?
If I could give zero stars, I would. We had reservations through Open Table. We showed for our 6:15 reservation. Was told they don't take reservations. Well, yes they do. They just don't honor them. The hostess could care less. The manager looked at their Open Table and saw there were in deed reservations out there for the restaurant. All we got was sorry. Get on the wait list with all the other walk ins. Why would they seat walk ups and not honor reservations. Will NEVER eat here again.
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!- After waiting a long time for our margaritas, we heard the couple sitting behind us, that came in after us, explain to the waiter that the margaritas they received had alcohol in them; and the wife was PG and they were NOT supposed to have alcohol in them. My wife & I both looked at each other and said to each other they probably received OUR margaritas. We watched the waiter pick up the other couple’s margaritas (which they drank out of), bring them up to the bartender & after a short conversation with the bartender, the bartender proceeded to add a little more ice and more alcohol and then our waiter brought them to OUR table (after the other couple had drank from them). Instantly I told the waiter I saw what just happened, and I would not accept the margaritas that the other couple had drank from. We asked to speak to the manager, and told him what had happened. He acted like it was no big deal and said he would “comp” our drinks and make them himself. Not once did we see the manager talk to the waiter or bartender to discuss this or tell them what they did was WRONG. When we received our bill, the waiter did say “I’m sorry for the inconvenience”.. What he did was NOT an inconvenience!! This is a serious violation of not only HEALTH, SAFETY regulations (especially with all the COVID crap we have been going through, but also TOTALLY UNETHICAL!! If this restaurant is doing this with their drinks- are they doing the same thing with uneaten food? I will NEVER eat at Nayarit South again
