Best cafe in Durango! Everything is made fresh everyday, their drinks are amazing, and incredible owners and atmosphere. Their sandwiches and quiches are to die for. Recommend to all of my family and friends!
As a local native should do, I gave this hip little spot a chance and started coming here regularly; about 5 times already. While the atmosphere is friendly unfortunately the service is a drag. The iced coffee I ordered yesterday at lunch was a lot different from usual and had but 3 ice cubes. And then the $5 cappuccino I ordered this morning could have fit in a tiny little teacup from a children’s playset. I waited about 20 minutes for a teaspoon of a sad little cappuccino.Consistency is key at any coffee place but it is certainly lacking here…Words that best describe this place: Fun, Upbeat, Friendly, and Tasty, but also Kitschy, Vacant, Sporadic and Underwhelming.
Tried out the Hermosa Cafe during a recent stay in Durango. I can not say enough good things about the food, coffee, staff and atmosphere/decor of the place. If your taste goes for home baked goods and amazing coffee then this is your place. The quiche is to die for, huge cinnamon rolls, even gluten free items on the menu. Ask for the Gold Mine toast. Yum!!!!!
Best breakfast in town. The quiche and avocado toast were amazing! Such a cool ambiance and very friendly staff.
Great coffee, great food, and great music!
I’ve been here several times while visiting Durango and they always mess my order up. Last time I went the owner gave my food to some else because they were complaining. It took another 25 mins to get my order after that. Then they gave me the wrong drink. The owner was super rude about it all. She acted like I should just be happy with the horrible service. I was unhappy and asked for a refund on my order so I could just leave. She ‘couldn’t figure out’ how to refund my order so she gave me a $3 biscotti to make up for my $17 order. By the way it was my birthday. Ruined the whole morning. Never again.
Can’t say I understand the positive reviews at all. Took 30 minutes to get a botched basic poached egg toast
Hermosa Café in Durango has an interesting menu, delicious food, high-quality ingredients, a pleasant atmosphere, and a genuinely kind staff. The restaurant is casual and spacious. An excellent place for coffee, tea, brunch, lunch, or a snack. Beautiful housemade pastries and quiches, too. Great value for the money.
I love this place coming from a standpoint of being a barista for Starbucks. I was floored by how warming, welcoming and beautiful this cafe is. Love the decor little bathroom humor! Lol and the matcha green tea ? actually tastes healthy. Not a load of sugar like Starbucks. ?. I love this cafe ?.
Great place for food and drinks
