Classic Durango fare. This establishment has been Durango for 50 years, it is the soul of the town. Many restaurants have come and gone but Griegos the little family restaurant is a must visit every time I go home.

Don't go expecting goumet dishes. That being said I find their food good, and prices quite reasonable compared to most. The Ala Cart menu is very cheap. They have burgers and Mexican food. Have not tried the burgers yet. Wait staff has been friendly both times I have dined here. They don't accept credit or debt cards so bring cash or plan on using thier ATM.Vegetarian options: They do have cheese and onion enchiladas and vegitarian green chile.

The food was bland and not very good. My favorite Mexican food is Chile relleno; it was so bad I only took 2 bites. I ordered my husband the carnitas plate, which was even worse. Rice with tomato sauce, and barely 3 ounces of sad looking meat. Way to much money for not good food. The only nice thing I can say is the staff were pleasant.

I will start with the good. The waitress .I'm 60 years old and I have eaten Mexican foodFrom Texas to California to Colorado and this is hands-down the worst I have ever had. Inedible. I literally had to push my food away and not eat and despite complaints got no discount. This food had zero flavor, A trace of salt in the food. Beef and chicken thatTasted like it was cooked in a frying pan with no salt or Pepper or any seasoning and rolled up in a burrito.Literally. The Mexican rice with like nothing I have ever seen or tasted. Like rice put into Crushed tomatoes. and put on a plate.Usually a lot of cars in a parking lot is a good indicator but not here. Had to go to Wendy's to get something to eat.If you expect flavor and you're from another part of the country don't go here. What a colossal waste of $30.

Food was mediocre at best and over priced. It apparently is a cash only restaurant but there are no signs that indicate that. They direct you to their own ATM that has nearly a $4.00 fee. Had we known it was cash only we would have immediately left but they don’t tell you until it’s time to pay up. Sounds like some sort of scam to me.

I've been wanting to go to this restaurant for years. We went in the afternoon. The service was poor, the staff were acting l like they wanted to be somewhere else. The wait staff came after we waited for about 15-20 minutes. the indoor seating was no full. We were served no chips and salsa, others were, nor were we asked if we would like water, or any other beverage. When the food came it was cold, tried to find the same wait staff she disappeared, and was not able to hail another. the food was slim to none in [portions. It looks like the second generation is trying its best to close the joint. Disappointing.....

Super rude. Wanted to try for the first time. A nice man offered to let us go first, which was really cool. A women then came over and yelled at us for “skipping the line and that we need to wait” and then just left. Waited 5 minutes and nobody cared to tell us how long or anything. Really disappointing.

Great lokal restaurant. Sopaillas are the best in town.

Foods good but service is kinda suspect..guess when got good food service doesn't mean as much..notvin my book though.

Pretty good New Mexican style enchiladas, tacos, and more. They have lots of traditional spicy New Mexican red and green chile options on the menu. The spice level reminds me of some of the menu items and the salsa bar at Frontier Restaurant down in Albuquerque, which was always delightfully hot!~
