The bbq was mediocre but the sides were good. Not a huge fan of when brisket is chopped instead of sliced. Pulled pork and ribs weren’t smokey and didn’t have much flavor. Also wasn’t a fan of any of the sauces except for the golden mustard. The hash brown casserole was probably my favorite part of the meal
Words of wisdom I once received: the shantier, less polished BBQ places almost always have the better BBQ.Absolutely true here. Don't mistake though, it's not dirty or anything like that. It just has a very classic BBQ shack feel.Upstairs bar and dining area was great. Bartender was servicing bar and 4 tables outside and didn't miss a step.Food was FANTASTIC! And the sauces were all excellent. Food prices very fair, good portion sizes, and food came out fast and was very fresh. We ordered rib tips, brisket, pulled pork, and chicken. All were great!Definitely worth the scooter ride out here to try, will definitely be back when we are in the area!
Yazoo serves some fine BBQ for the best prices in Denver. I've only had the brisket but can't wait to try their St. Louis style pork ribs. Nice bonus that they have their own parking so you don't have to feed the meter. My favorite BBQ place in Denver!
Stopped by Yazoo after a several year hiatus. I don’t eat pork so I ordered the Combo with chicken and brisket. Sides were Cole slaw and potato slaw, the latter being the best. Overall, the food was good and the sauce selection was fantastic. They also allowed me to bring my pup in which was super nice and appreciated. My biggest quarrel was the portion size, which seems to have significantly cut back from what I remembered was much larger before. While losing out on more food on the plate, we’re also seeing increases in their prices. It would be appreciated to have a better balance of the two. Lunch came out to around $16.Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Yazoo.
For a semi first time having a BBQ, Yazoo was a very traditional BBQ spot with a slight modern twist on decor. It's very homey and bar-like but the rooftop experience is really where it's at. Walking up the stairs to fresh air and a lovely bartender named Becca was refreshing. She's very quick, witty, and her sense of humour is easily my favourite in Denver! The brisket, chicken and hot links was very delicious, especially paired with the Hash brown casserole and house pickles. They brine the pickles with Jalapenos and vinegar and was savory with a hint of heat to it. My favourite addition was definitely the sauces they have to pair with the foods. You can tell they're house made and the flavour is astounding. Heat without flavour is meaningless. Definitely coming back here considering I work a block from here.
The wife picked out this place. She said it had high reviews. This place has the best BBQ in Denver! We haven't had really good BBQ in a while, so finding this little gem was awesome. I had the rib tips and she had the pulled pork sandwich. Portions were great and the beans and coleslaw was spot on! We usually get Mac n cheese with our BBQ, so they recommend the potato casserole. It's better than Mac n cheese! We cleaned our plates and plan on returning with my boys to stuff them full of this delicious food! Keep up the good work.
Amazing job on the ribs, tips, and brisket; highlighted by the myriad of sauces. Pro-tip: mix half Gold with half Hot, and its the best of both worlds. Still the best BBQ place I've seen in Denver.Side-dishes were lack luster: green beans nicely accented by diced onion, but the pickling process doesn't have the same, warm snap of its Southern roots. The casserole was lukewarm, but provided a creamy relief from the spicier sauces.
Great value for the money the meat is cooked to perfection. I got ribtips and beans
