Great breakfast spot, I'd never really tried Montreal style bagels before, but I'm a fan.
Worked here for about 6 months back in 2019. Haven't been in since I left, but decided to swing in today to grab some food for breakfast since I live close by. Got the Smoking Gun sandwich and an iced chai. Both were as good as I remember. Bagel was a tad hard, but still delicious!
The bagels here are great, especially for Denver. They are Montreal-style, which gives them extra points in my book. Everyone knows NYC style is overrated, the secret is they just add lots of cream cheese, hardly a cooking marvel. Montreal style is actually impressive and the taste backs it up. The potatoes here are literally the best in the city. Go here just for the pastrami and the potatoes of any prep method.
I never leave reviews but man I had to with this one. To say this meal is disrespectful is a complete understatement. Worst “Reuben” I’ve ever tasted in my life. The meat is NOT edible. Burnt to a crisp and leathery. Takes me 2 minutes to chew a tiny bite. DISGUSTED. No sauerkraut, and only 5-6 potatoes. Do not order from this establishment. Get better cooks, do something.. this is absolutely pathetic. I paid good money for this garbage. If I could give 0 starts I COULD.
Delicious bagels that definitely seem more Montreal style with the crusty outside and chewy inside, smaller form. We got the "Brooklyn" with lox, cream cheese, capers, onions and tomatoes. Pretty darn good. Plenty of fish, served open face and with lots of capers. Price was close to $13 which was not optimal but they made up for it with the generous portions. I think one of these is enough for two people as well.
Bagels still taste great, but a bit turned off by a few changes since my last visit. Prices went up, they charge an additional % fee and the avocado toast seemed to have maybe half the avocado and egg that it used to have. I know these are hard times for the world, but all the changes left me feeling disappointed.
We were trying to go to Rosenberg's bagels but I think for some reason when we typed in the address it brought us here. We didn't want to drive to go look for a different spot so we decided to stop in and order breakfast. I'm assuming they make their bagels fresh because I saw some wood fire type of stove as soon as you walk in pretty cool looking spot. Pretty good breakfast spot if you're in the area I recommend trying the tomato basil soup It was pretty earthy.
Doesn’t quite hit the mark. Our main grievance is that the food is always dry: We’ve tried the breakfast burrito, 3 different types of breakfast bagel sandwiches, and the potatoes. I don’t know where the moisture is in the food. It’s the lack of it in the potatoes, eggs, the meats, and the bagels themselves. Perhaps that’s why it takes so long to get your order; they overcook everything! To be fair, it’s a cute place and the people are usually friendly, hence 2 stars. We really wanted to like such a convenient place to our house so I hope things improve here somehow.***I was also in the middle of placing an order online one time and it said “no longer available” for immediate pick up. I had to select for an hour later. Such bad timing right as I was in the checkout. I just decided to cancel. (Likely something they can’t control?) but not a good experience!
Hands down the best bagels you'll find in Denver! Weekends can be crowded at times, but it's evidently worth the wait. All in all, it's a cool spot for hanging out and drinking good coffee, not to mention the staff are friendly and hardworking. 10/10
The layer of avocado on their avocado toast is so thin that it is transparent. Very stingy, hope it is worth saving an extra 25 cents per order. Oven was broken also so no bagels. 0/5 won’t be back.
