My sister and I enjoyed our stay at The Oxford Hotel. The decor is incredibly classy, vintage, and unique! We loved their on site bar, The Cruise Room! The bar gave us a trip back to the early 1900's...SO NEAT! The location was perfect... We explored Downtown Denver by foot (lots of neat shops, great places to eat, and bars). We took advantage of fresh clean sheets everyday which is hard to find without asking at most hotels. The Oxford's Valet service is top tier. Jimmy (handsome, attentive) was there to send us on our way back to the airport on our final day in Denver. I don't think I have ever seen a valet be so sweet and eager to help as he loaded our luggage into the car. The entire stay at the Oxford was refreshing and I highly recommend.
Beautiful and historic hotel with great amenities! The nightly whisky tasting was superb and the Urban Farmer restaurant is excellent! The Oxford is within walking distance of many downtown restaurants and bars. The staff is excellent and very friendly! Overall a great place to stay!
Beautiful building and location but that’s about all you are paying for. Staff are unfriendly and uninterested in being helpful. Our room had black mold in the shower. When we had a family emergency in the middle of the night they couldn’t be bothered to put calls through to the room, or check to see if anyone was in the room and instead reported to everyone that my husband was missing, adding greatly to the general anxiety and trauma of the night.
Historical (built 1891) art deco styled hotel with a cool vibe. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nightly bourbon tastings, live music on occasion. The attached Urban Farmer restaurant offers unbelievable steaks. Can't get a reservation? No problem.. room service will bring it. Located in lower downtown near Union Station and one block off 16th mall st with free bus that takes you up and down the street for seval blocks of dining and shopping. Several locals who live in nearby mountains mention this as their choice hotel when staying downtown.
The hotel location was almost unbeatable and the staff were great. Right in the heart of downtown and less then 2 blocks from the main train station for easy transit to the airport or around denver. The hotel itself was very clean and well kept and the nightly whiskey tasting was an unexpected treat. The included breakfast was the only disappointment but given all the food options around not a huge issue.
My girlfriend and I decided on a trip to Denver for our anniversary. After some research, we booked at the Oxford hotel in Lodo and we weren’t disappointed. Both Sara and Sarah in the front were fantastic. Every person we encountered was friendly and helpful. Smiles all around. The amenities were top notch. Every night we stayed here there were whiskey tastings. The gym is fully outfitted, with a clean locker room and sauna attached. The building itself takes you back in history! All that on top of the half block walk to the train station means you can begin your exploring the second you get off the train from the airport. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. Loved it here.
Excellent hotel close to the station. Has great character and unique furnishings. Rooms are large and well equipped - with coffee making. Staff are very helpful and great to have a real key! Bar next door has good cocktails with a voucher on check in
The hotel is a block from Union Station, near lots of restaurants and the 16th street mall. You don't want to walk too far afield, as, like all other large cities, there are homeless. Parking is valet only, and $42/day, which we didn't find out about until we checked out. Nathan at the front desk is a real asset to the hotel. He upgraded us without charge to a junior suite. The suite was just too small for us (the bed took up most of the room), so the next morning, we asked to be moved, and were moved into a beautiful king room, again with no charge. The hotel provides free bottled water in the room, at the front desk and at the valet stand. There is charcuterie at night, some nights have bourbon tastings, and there is an old speakeasy bar attached to the hotel. the complimentary continental breakfast has good pastries, yogurt parfaits and great coffee. Class act and there is a real sense of ownership among the staff. Top notch.
An amazing Hotel, oldest in Denver I was told. Facilities and people there were of the highest quality. Access to train station is a real plus - can get to the airport for $5 as a "senior."
The service at this, oldest hotel in Denver, is head and shoulders above the rest. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The vibe is classic and edgy. Love the Remington sculptures, finch, whiskey tastings, sweet treats, and live music in the lobby. Every single employee is informative on the history and the offerings of the hotel. The Lodo shuttle Tesla is a nice touch. This location is right in front of Union Station, where the airport train ends, and by tons of excellent eateries and shops. The location can't be beat. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. A couple of small takeaways, low water pressure in the shower and the TV was in an unwatchable location in the room. Despite these takeaways, this is definitely a 5 star hotel and experience. Did not know before this visit that the hotel offers spa experiences. I probably would have checked into this before our trip, but our time was totally booked by the time we arrived.
