I had to post a review to help other people out from making the mistake that I made. Unfortunately the reviews may confuse others into believing this place is good in any way, which it is NOT. Staff was friendly but that’s about all the praise I can give. It was pretty dirty, flies inside and mice running around outside on the patio area. I can forgive that since they keep the doors open but the food gets no forgiveness at all. The chicken sandwich I ordered was terrible, no seasoning on anything and the chicken was as dry as sand from the Sahara desert. I also tried the corn chowder which was watery and bland, I felt like I was in the Middle Ages while I ate the few bites I could force myself to swallow. I have been in food service my whole life and I am currently a chef so I don’t get on here to beat anyone up. It was just excessively bad and I feel like people need to know before they go in and spend their money. Some adjustments need to be made at Spices or these reviews will continue to show up
Sandwiches were good, but over priced and they don't give you alot of sides. I got about 4 onion rings with my sandwich, and the other sandwich we got chips and it wasn't alot either. I ordered 2 Sandwiches and a few cans of soda and spent a little over $30. But then again thats everywhere you go now. Just wished they wouldn't be so stingy with the sides.
I've been a customer of Spices for many years. Mike is the absolute best! I have food allergies and he's always on top of making sure everything is correct and perfect. He has an amazing catering side too. Go try everything on his menu, RIGHT NOW!
Great soup and sandwich. Quality fresh ingredients.
Wonderful breakfast location right off Colfax. It is a quiet spot so it is not ideal for brunch conversation but, it would be a great spot for a lunch date or a quiet break in the morning.
I’ve been for breakfast three times now. The staff is warm and accommodating. The food is consistent and a great value.
My favorite breakfast spot in Denver gets overlooked for trendier establishments. It's also easy to overlook this place given that the building it's in is packed with other businesses and just when you think you've found them all, there's another. The entrance to Spices is on Humboldt. There's some outdoor seating and indoors are both tables and a counter. Grab a menu when you walk in and order and pay at the register. They'll bring you your food, wherever you choose to sit. I've never had a bad meal here. Some key things that I love:1. The classical music. They always play classical and I love it.2. The hashbrowns. They are hand shredded, never frozen, and always amazing.3. The crowd, or lack thereof. I want this place to do well, so I won't complain too hard if this changes, but so far every time I've visited it's been really pleasant and chill.4. The service is always friendly and fast.We used to live in walking distance and now we don't at all. I'm happy they've survived the pandemic this far. If you haven't tried this place, do it. You'll get a nice meal in pleasant environment and that's a lot, in my book.
By chance found this cute small cafe with the best food. I had the veggie omelette with hash browns and it was amazing. The hash browns are the best I’ve had. Seasoned perfectly! This is now going to be our go to spot to meet up with friends for brunch.
Hands down the very best breakfast spot in Denver! I went for the first time this morning with my wife and we will be going back every weekend until we've tried the whole menu. ( I am a breakfast fanatic!) Syrup and Snooze are way over priced and and the food? Frozen tater tots (Syrup??) Come on!!! Go to SPICES CAFE!!!!! Simple down home country food cooked to PERFECTION. I can’t rave about this place enough. This place is really a diamond in the ruff.
Fantastic space and Excellent food by people that are longtime pro’s in the business. One of the best organized kitchens in the region.
