Favorite thing I didn’t order from menu: Stake and eggs for $40. Or the bone marrow for $125. The menu is a little pricy give the number of entrees that are served with french fries. Not a restaurant I’ll visit twice, is a realization I’m making while sitting on the porcelain throne immediately after visiting the restaurant. Avoid the empanadas.
We happened upon Señor Bear just for convenience sake - we had a reservation at a speakeasy nearby and wanted something small to eat before heading there. This ended up being a phenomenal choice! There were three of us, and we shared an order of patatas and empanadas. They were incredible. Everything was so flavorful and cooked to absolute perfection. There was a table next to us having drinks, and they saw us enjoying our food so much they asked the server to have what we were having - and they ended up loving it just as much.
Amazing food! The enchiladas are a delicious meal, a creamy and crunchy bbq that is quite filling. The ceviche was a wonderful citrus sauce, with enough spice to make it interesting. To finish it off the churros are a delightful crispy dessert with a sweet butter sauce. Fun atmosphere and very good staff, would definitely come back. It's a little more on the pricey side, but it's worth it nonetheless. Great food, great experience!
I can’t stress enough the food here. We ordered empanadas which were awesome but the bartender told us about the churro’s. Guys Omg absolutely a game changer. I never go on google to do reviews but I felt it was only respectful to give props to Tap and Burger and Senor bears. I live in Texas so this is my last day but praise God for these two places!!!
With the growing food scene here in Denver there is always a new spot popping up. Señor Bear is one that you should definitely check out. Good service and hospitality! We enjoyed our experience. They've got a selective short menu of good food options many of which are vegan! Plenty of tasty drinks to choose from as well. Their dishes are packed with unique flavors and is what I would consider an upscale Mexican fusion type of place. Great location close to downtown and good for walking around.
This was the best place to stroll into for a unique experience and FABULOUS food! Perfect for any occasion, a great date or a meandering session in the neighborhood! Loveee the quesoooo and nachos!! But... damn- that guac!!!
Overall, food tasted good and we got good service from our waiter, but I took a star because some of the dishes didn’t meet our expectations. The guac was very salty and the “chorizo parrillero” dish wasn’t chorizo, it was a german sausage. We liked the dish regardless, but we ordered that because of the specific meat/flavors. We also had a side of potatoes that the menu indicates it comes with mojo, but unfortunately there was not mojo (at least not the traditional mojo from the Canary Islands, Spain), just some dry mild-spicy spices on top. Ceviche and mezcal margarita were on point, though.
Edit: manager responded to my review and asked me to email him, which I did twice over the span of a week and haven’t heard back in over a week now. Maybe he just wants to look professional on Google but actually doesn’t care about making things right as he stated in his reply? Maybe I should email Culinary Creative Restaurant Group directly about this since it was him that was the rude one to us the day we went in...*when I originally wrote this review I didn’t realize the rude employee was actually the store manager, which makes it way worse!* Went for Sunday brunch with my boyfriend who works for the company and my dog. Got there shortly after opening, very slow customer wise. They were unwilling to sit us at their picnic benches with the dog because “I don’t have staff to be stretched that thin man” but they could seat us at a different area outside that I’d have to lock my dog up outside the gate away from us. They had nobody seated outside at either area, so it’s not like they’d have to sent wait staff to two separate areas to accommodate us. Not to mention the picnic benches we wanted to sit at were right outside the doors, so easier access for the waiter anyways. I get being short staffed and such right now but the tone like he was annoyed someone would bring a dog to an outdoor patio in Denver on one of the last nice days of the year. I’m sure people bring dogs constantly, again, it’s Denver. His verbiage as well was very off putting.Side note, they are also displaying covid rules that are against the current Denver order. The signage is not from the city it’s from a restaurant group. It says you have to show proof of vaccination but they don’t actually check it. When you make a reservation it asks you if you’re vaccinated on honor system to comply with the cities 95% requirements. Just make it simple and require masks instead of going around the rules in a shady way.
lively atmosphere with great service and food. fun dishes and the best churros with brown butter you’ve ever experienced
Delicious food, took three tries before we were given hard copy menus because their qr code menu didn't scan for either of our phones and the website was no help (Android phones), either.Once we got over that, it was lovely."Tip" was automatically added as "service charge".
