This place is awesome. Food is excellent, service even better. Tony is the man. Go get a sandwich!
As a native NYer thank gosh this place exisits. It is such a good deli and the bagels/breakfast sandwich's are on point. Plzzz bring in vegetarian 'meat' so I can have the breakfast sandwich of my dreams..Y'all are the best! Great friendly staff!!
Pros: $15 for a real sized corned beef on rye is actually a really good deal in this economy. I respect that price point and the people complaining about it don't realize how much meat costs. Good on you guys. Your employees seemed happy and not overworked, so again I respect that a lot, thanks for being decent owners.Cons: Unfortunately, the food is part of the cons. The beef and mustard were decent, but the bread was a bit disappointing, and the pickle tasted like the last in a jar of kroger-brand spears. In fact, for a place that advertises itself as a "picklery", quite pathetic. In fact, so far as I can tell from a few minutes of googling, the proper word is pickler, and "picklery" started being used by small businesses a few years ago, presumably because it sounds more pretentious. Overall, the place tries too hard to be hip or bougie or whatever, and I really don't like it. Oh well, maybe that's what you need to do nowadays to make money, but I would argue that this level of pretension demands a far higher quality of pickle regardless. The matzo ball soup tasted bad, but the quantity I got for only $3 and the loss of a tiny coleslaw made me not mind too much.Anyways, good work on the price point, everything else I talked about was subjective, and it seems like most people disagree with me, so good for you guys! If you publicly post the wage you hire your workers at, I will increase this review to 4 stars, as it will confirm my suspicions that you are exceptionally honest business owners, regardless of what I think of the food. I will even make it 5 if that wage is high enough.
Every Sandwich here is delicious. The staff is friendly, and there's even outdoor seating in the Sun that is very pleasant if it's above 65°. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because the prices are a bit higher than I'd like. I mean, they use high quality deli meats, and bake a lot of their own bread, I believe, but $16 for a sandwich with tip is a tad on the high side for the Denver metro area.
Food is amazing! Tried the new Chicken Calabrese sandwich. It was every thing you could want. Taste amazing, fresh and crunchy. The bread was great and you could tell the ingredients were fresh too. I highly recommend this place. Good people making good food with excellent service.
I can’t speak to anything else but the matzo ball soup, but the soup was underwhelming and not worth $8 (half pint). For $8 you get one tiny matzo ball, and little veggies. No noodles, no hearty vegetables, no protein…growing up in the Valley of Northridge, CA maybe I was spoiled with big portions. That’s what Jewish deli’s are known for after all…Everyone was v nice who worked there and this review is solely about the soup. Wouldn’t go back based on this standard though!
I don't know what these 5 star reviews are about. With so many jews in Denver, how can no one deliver good cured meats?? I ordered a half corned beef, half pastrami, it had 3 slices of corned beef, and 1 slice of pastrami - $16... not to mention it's clearly repackaged cold cuts, not homemade meats. What i received looked nothing like some of these older pictures. I felt rushed to order off a tiny menu on the wall and drinks selections are weak sauce. They messed up our order, we ended up paying $60+ for 2(1?) Sandwich and a cup of luke warm soup, 2 cokes....
Great restaurant, I got a custom sandwich and it was amazing! Definitely worth it.
Get the Ruben, you won’t be sorry. Amazing!!
The Rye Society is the real-deal. Don't let steep prices scare you, it's 100% worth it in the quality and quantity of food alone. This deli has a modest selection of cold-cut sandwiches, matzo ball soup, chips, bakery items and more. Head over for lunch and enjoy dining outside on Larimer. Or get it to-go. Whatever you choose, don't forget the pickles! Their homemade pickles are great (although a little expensive). Not feeling great? You need some veggies!! Order the Dr. Rosen's Feel Good Bowl. It's loaded with sweet potatoes, kale, mushrooms, curry flavoring and so much more. 10/10 for food and staff!
