The portion sizes were huge and the meats tasted great. My only suggestions are to add a touch more salt to the pork and either toast the buns or use larger/sturdier ones. Other than that, great customer service and overall experience!
I really enjoyed this food. Not a lot of great bbq around so glad to have visited here. It's a hole in the wall place and seems to do a lot of take out. I had the briscuit sandwich combo. Briscuit was great. Excellent selection of sauces on the side. I really enjoyed the cole slaw, which is a nice surprise for me, and beans were really good. Lemon cake dessert was very tasty. I'll be back!
The actual meat was kind of cold by the time it got to me, but the sides were really good and the buttermilk pie was incredible. Like creme brule in pie form. The lady at the counter was also very sweet and the wall decor was impeccable ?
High energy but casual vibe. I picked up lunch and was very pleased that my collard greens came with pot likker! I got the pulled pork that was melt-in-your-mouth delish, and the slaw was legit. The Carolina sauce was perfect for this vinegar-loving gurl.
We drove 45 minutes to try this out and our family had flashbacks of our days in the South! Great people, too!
I just dont really know why this place is rated 4.7. Lots of comments about the deliciousness of burnt ends and brisket. They are just so average nothing really special at all. Seems like the BBQ resturants in Denver are at a way lower level than Texas. What I liked was the Collard green. Lots of reviews about the buttermilk pie, but nothing really special about it.
Lovely owners, great ribs, good hot links, chicken was a little dry and didn't have any sort of charred BBQ special taste so I likely would skip that next time but still liked it, corn bread good, green beans good, mac n cheese was more just a mac, didn't seem to have any cheese sauce so would skip that if getting again.Loved trying all the different sauces since they were 25 cents each (they should at least charge 50 cents even a dollar per sauce I think, big punnets), one sauce would have been enough quantity wise but its fun to try the various state sauce styles
Delicious brisket! I had some brisket flat cuts and spareribs. The brisket was very tender for the flat (lean) part, probably the best that I had in Denver. Spareribs were also good and tender. They also provide disposable gloves at the counter, so no worry to get messy when eating with hands.Actually this is a BBQ location that I didn't plan to visit but it turned out to be very good. Highly recommend.
Been coming here for years. We absolutely love this place. The owner is an absolute peach of a human being who cooks up the best BBQ in Denver. Get their early or order ahead of you want ribs because sell through every day.
