This place used to be great for getting a good sandwich or burger after a game or visiting a nearby attraction. It has fallen into disrepair and has become somewhat shabby. All of the decor has seen better days and the lace curtains seem to have never been cleaned. The service is provided by one waiter and one server who dole out the a la carte fare in which you have to pay more for lettuce and tomatoes and fries with a $10. Burger which is not $10. good. I took our of town visitors there craving the good old days of excellent service and great food and left embarrassingly disappointed. Bar rescue, where are you?

Onion rings are awesome. I like that they bring out burger toppings to the table so you can put what you want on it. I didn't find the biz name on the outside of the building, only the address so I wasn't sure if I was at the right place at first. Good service.

Came here after seeing the great reviews. And it didn’t disappoint, place has been around since 1873. Sat at the bar and had a bison burger…truly the definition of a “cheeseburger”. Checked all the boxes. Very social vibe, will definitely be returning soon!

Had a great cheeseburger on the patio with my lady. I had a double patty that was cooked perfectly. I'm glad this spot still exists, as it is one of the old school Denver bar/restaurants that are still around. Love how they serve the food with pickles too.

Asked for 2 doubles at last call(they warned us as we walked in) so they didn't get into trouble and so I could have 2 more solid drinks before I left since it was my friends pick for the place to go for the evening(I would have finished them before we had to leave). Got told "absolutely not" and the bartender turned his back. No explanation, no bartering("you can order this though"). Just "absolutely not." Never going back here. He eventually did offer me one but after that first exchange, I wasn't giving him my money.

We sought out this historic bar and are so glad we did! The other positive reviews are spot on! Full bar and surprisingly kid friendly, the oldest bar in Denver did.not disappoint. Simply delicious pub fare simply served with a smile. Extensive list of craft beers and ciders on tap. Yummy cooked to order burgers, fries, and onion rings. Highly recommended! We will make this a must stop next time we pass through Denver! Oh, and there's also outdoor seating!

Love the atmosphere here, it’s cool to see these older restaurants. The burgers were really good, my fiancé got the bison and ate it so fast hahaMy only small complaint is that the bathrooms really need some attention, they both smelled really bad and we’re not in good shape.

We arrived in the middle of a snowstorm on a very chilly Tuesday evening and there were not many people there; a pretty young crowd of those that were. The owner or manager greeted us at the door and advised us that only the right side of the bar was open tonight due to the storm. The bar had so many different bottles behind it that I can’t imagine any drink that they can’t make. We were there for dinner and the food was “better than bar food.” We really came here not for the drinks or food, but more for a “Denver” experience a place that was not a chain (although I think there is another one out by the Denver Tech Center). Service was fast and friendly from their micro kitchen. My son said the jalapeño poppers were great along with his main course BLT. I had a regular hamburger which was tasty and juicy although slightly undercooked. You will find prices slightly high here due to its location in downtown Denver. You are not really paying for exquisite cuisine, you are paying to visit an exceptional and historical part of Denver that probably not a lot of “outsiders” visit. My son is a local and he steered me here. I really had a great time as the staff is warm and friendly. I will come back here again when I can sneak away from the suburbs.

Great place, awesome environment. Loved the brews! Best burgers in Denver, also it’s the oldest bar in Denver Since the 1870’s

This burger joint is a Denver classic. Some things have changed on the menu, but the same idea. Burgers are key, but you can get other orders. The frings are good. So, the food has changed, but the ambiance is still the same. Also, they have great hard cider.
