On first review I give it a solid 4/5. Never had deep fried tacos before and they were delicious, although I wish they melted the cheese more when I got them. Definitely coming back to try more.
Highly disappointed as this is usually one of my favorites. However, I went for a take out order yesterday and was met with disappointment. Not sure when the tacos became this skimpy and the cheese began to look like this. Do better Mexico City. Went out of my way just to be disappointed.
Very busy place, worth the wait. Friendly atmosphere, great service, and good food.
Worth the wait! Seriously hate it took me this long to find this spot. Best tacos in the city! Cosmo and Steve are amazing - for a busy street in town they make you feel like home immediately.
The salsa was delicious, and the drinks were good. The tacos weren't what I expected. I think they used sliced cheese on the fried tacos, and there was more grease than flavor. I wasn't a fan. I think it's a great dive when you're drunk and need food.
With all the hype I was really excited to come here, but maybe it's just for their fried tacos? The menu said gluten free so we were going to get enchiladas, but neither the red or green sauce was gluten free, so we opted for nachos. They knew we needed GF but the nachos came out with refried beans that we aren't sure are GF and the nacho sauce wasn't great tasting and we aren't sure even that was GF. So we finished our chips and salsa and margaritas and called it good. Wish we could have tried the fried nachos. ?♀️
Waited a while (30 minutes) at noon on a Friday for a table, but worth the wait. Margaritas were good, but the star is their famous fried taco. Delicious! Warning though - you will smell like a fried taco for the rest of the day! Worth it!
Fried tacos with some kind of tasty cheese.... If you think you want two just order three. You will be happier in the end!
I recommend the steak tacos pictured below. A deep fried tortilla shell with seasoned steak (not sure what kind) with plenty of cheese, lettuce, tomato and avocado slice. With a side of some spicy? taco sauce If you like Horchata they have one of the best that I have tasted. Chips and guac is pretty good to, however chips and salsa is not free...just a heads up. So if your in Denver and looking for some good tacos give Mexico City a try in lower downtown Denver
Came here for the first time and loved there Chicken Fried Tacos. Friendly staff and quick service. The only thing I didn't like was that there bean's and rice cost an additional $4.00 for a small plate.
