I was looking forward to this dinner after all the amazing reviews but I think we did it wrong. Dinner was very expensive and nothing stood out as remarkable. In fact, the bread service seemed like bagged rolls with some butter and salt sprinkled on top, and the roast chicken was dry and overcooked.

The food was in perfect proportion, and delicious. We ordered the Korean chicken sandwich and egg salad tartine. The sandwich was expertly marinated with the right amount of condiments. We ordered the fries with it and they were the best! Skinny, with the right amount of crunch. The egg salad was light, they didn't overdo the mayo. The Rebel sourdough was the shining star. The service was prompt and the restaurant had an an area for us to store luggage. The additional service fee of 20% is quite high and though everything was lovely, I can't justify the additional cost.

Way too loud. Made the evening uncomfortable. People who work there are very nice and professional. I like that the gratuity was included. But I probably will not be back bc of the noise. Additionally the wine by the glass was way too expensive. Should be a lower priced glass for each type. I would recommend but share my views

Booked a brunch for my daughters birthday. The food was mediocre and service was okay but not great. Everything had a 20% surcharge which we knew ahead of time but still disappointed we’d pay over 7 bucks for a cup of latte and it can’t even be made nonfat. Worst part was there was a hair in my food which was gross as it was very embedded in the food and discovered halfway through the plate. Will not go back

Have been here a few times pre-pandemic and always enjoyed it, but this time not so much. We arrived a few minutes early and they said they were waiting for tables to turn, so we sat at the bar. It literally took almost 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us, and they were a little brusque. We had only gotten one of our drinks when our table opened, so we sat down. When we asked for the menu, the waiter sort of admonished us to look at the QR code, but finally got us a paper version. The food overall was good, but I think there are better choices out there. Also, they include a 20% compulsory gratuity and you're then gently "encouraged" to give more. I wonder if the staff's knowing that they get 20% regardless leads to less overall enthusiasm, but who knows.

Service slow . Food good but over priced . Preferred an inside table which was unavailable. So sweared the night awY

Our dinner was perfect. The menu is small however the food was perfectly cooked and we especially enjoyed the fennel dish. It was a surprising and refreshing dish. Dessert was outstanding as well. I had read the reviews about parking so we parked at a parking garage and walked one block to the restaurant and enjoyed the walk. Over all the food was outstanding the service was very good.

Amazing food!! We came for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. The food was seriously amazing! We started with the Moroccan meatballs so good. How they get them so crispy and moist idk. For dinner my husband had the ribeye. Awesome presentation but for him even better food. The black garlic underneath he said was so good. I got the fusseli with pesto. A surprise kick not the biggest portion but it was good. For dessert we got the chocolate bar. OMG! That pinch of cardamom in the caramel sauce sets it over the top. It’s rich, light and oh so good. Def needs shared. I love dessert and couldn’t eat one alone. Rich and delicious. This place is a treat. Pricey. But amazing service and even better food. Next time we will have to request outside. My husband is hard of hearing and he couldn’t hear me or the wait staff and we asked to move outside but they couldn’t seat us. They did send us home with two out their macaroons as a special happy anniversary. That was super sweet!

I had dinner with a friend at Mercantile pre-pandemic and really enjoyed it. The food, atmosphere, and service were excellent. I had a business lunch there yesterday and it was a completely different experience. The noise level was much higher than I expected, making conversation with my colleague difficult. Our server was nice, however, he really rushed us through the meal, asking us "how were the first bites?" while leaving our check on the table. At $19, the Shrimp Bowl was overpriced - consisting of 3 shrimp, 1/2 of a small ajitama egg, a few small, random pieces of lettuce and rice (no chili crisp). When I made the reservation, I received a message suggesting that I valet. Since I couldn't park in my usual garage, I went the valet route, not knowing that it would be $17 to park for less than 90 minutes. The valet was extremely rude - hitting my car HARD with his hand to let me know that I was parking "incorrectly" and then brusquely asking if I wanted him to park my car. When I paid for my parking after lunch, he took my $20 and without even saying thank you or looking at me, asked "Do you want your change back?" Overall it was a very disappointing experience. I'm so glad I suggested an alternate restaurant to my significant other who was planning to hold a business dinner there later that night. It would've been a disaster.

Poor service and ridiculously overpriced wine list.
