My go-to Italian spot in Denver! Handmade pasta, fresh burrata, top notch wine, cheese made in house, freshly shaved prosciutto, rustic breads.... Luca has it all! Add in the most friendly knowledgeable servers in town and you've got a spot to make memories.
We had a great experience with our server Paige. We went for Mother’s Day dinner on Saturday and she had so many great recommendations and made us feel so appreciated as guests. The food was delicious with a great ambiance. Definitely a recommended restaurant, and Paige is a great server that I will be requesting in the future.
This is my favorite restaurant! The food has a sensuous and complex flavor profile while also being rustic Italian. You will not find a better pomodoro sauce anywhere unless your grandma is from Italy and has a long held family recipe. The pasta is hand made and has a perfect texture and amazing flavor with the sauce. The house made buratta is the freshest, creamiest and thickest you’ll enjoy outside of select NYC restaurants that are famous for making their own mozzarella, ricotta or buratta. And the staff treat their guests like they’ve invited you into their own home. Jessica was amazing! All together, going to Luca’s is like getting the perfect big warm hug.
We started going to Luca last Valentine’s Day (2021) and since then it has become our go to celebration/special dinner spot. The food is incredible and very authentic Italian. Probably the most authentic I have found in Denver, and just to give a background, I studied culinary in Italy and am part Italian. The food may be out of this world, but the staff is what makes it even more special. They constantly make you feel special and take care of you. Tonight we experienced possibly our last dinner there before moving and celebrated our anniversary. To say they took care of us is an understatement. Their kindness and genuine care for their customer is something all restaurants should strive for. They made me cry tonight from just pure awe and happiness. We are really going to miss the food and more importantly those who cook and serve it and make the experience so much more. Thank you Luca, but especially thank you Carli and James!
The mushroom fusili has got to be one of the best pasta dishes in all of Denver. Wow.We’ve been to Luca a few times and it is always a treat when we get to go. Last week we went for Denver restaurant week and we had the salmon, chicken parm, mussels, and mushroom fusili. Yum. This place is amazing
This is a small, slightly upscale, Italian restaurant in the heart of Denver. The food is good but not remarkable. There are only about ten tables, making reservations a very good idea.A deposit is required and a 22% automatic gratuity is applied. However, the servers make it clear the tip is split among the entire staff, so they overtly push for more than 22%, which goes directly to them.I think it’s unlikely we’ll return as there are many great Italian restaurants in the Denver metro area.
This was the best dining experience I've had in years. We dined during restaurant week (RW), and ate from the RW menu. Sometimes restaurants will skimp a little on the RW menu, but the kitchen at Luca did not. I was greeted by name when we walked in, which was just so classy. We ordered cocktails, but a glass of complementary sparkling wine arrived first which was a nice touch. From the RW menu, I ordered the eggplant, mushroom fusilli, and steak. All three were prepared so perfectly. The wild mushroom fusilli was the star for me. The sauce was mouth watering and mushrooms cooked perfectly. Furthermore, I can't complement the service enough. Water always topped before I could think of asking for more, silverware replaced quickly without interrupting our conversation, food and drinks arrived quickly, and always with a cheerful smile. We had the tiramisu for dessert and it was literally the best we've ever had. Our server was attentive without hovering too much. And the atmosphere was great as well. Great music, not too loud but still fun vibes, the dining room not too crowded. I appreciate the server told me about the additional service fee and that tip was voluntary. I can't wait to come back.
Paid the $40 for the reservation to go with my friend who had been raving about this place for years. The host almost had an aneurysm when we walked in without a mask...even though there are no more mask mandates as 90% of Colorado is vaccinated...but, ok. Then, we had to show our vax cards. I had mine, but my friend forgot hers and she lives 45 minutes away, so it's not like she could get it. The host said we could find her status on some website...except it wasn't working and the host said she couldn't just blindly believe us regarding her vax status (even though she's been fully vaxxed for over a year) and told us to leave. I've eaten at hundreds of restaurants throughout this pandemic and have never had to show vax status...nevertheless get turned away for not showing Hitler her papers...now I understand why it wasn't busy for a Saturday. We went to Jovaninas in Downtown instead, where nobody was wearing masks and no vax cards...even though the host at Luca insisted that most restaurants were requiring it...no, but it seems like Mr. Bonanno has lost it with this insanity. Very disappointed and will not go to any of his restaurants until this ridiculousness is gone. Also, get rid of the $20 per person reservation requirement....you're serving $20 pastas for crying out loud. It's not like you're Guard and Grace or Shanahans. ?
Excellent food and fantastic serviceTruly an enjoyable meal, and a top notch experience overall. Jessica was outstanding and made the experience unforgettable. The only reason I don't want to recommend this place is that I don't want people to ruin it! Like they do with everything! But I do recommend this place. It's great.
Incredible meal and service. Paige is fantastic!
