This wonderful restaurant is the best kept secret in Denver! Thousands of people pass by every week on Evans and Iliff without noticing it. Inside you will discover professional staff, most of whom do not speak English. Know what that means? It means you will soon enjoy AUTHENTIC Mexican food that stands its own next to any fine dining experience in this town. The staff is patient, believe me, and Google translator will help you as much as the elegant, approachable lady behind the register. I eat here several times a month, have for almost a year now, and they treat me like gold. Don't tell them I said this, but they could and should charge double what they charge now for the exquisite cuisine available and the welcoming ambiance of the staff and patrons at La Gaviota Restaurante. This is my "happy place."
Worst experience I’ve had at a Mexican restaurant, I told them what I wanted 6 times, still gave me the wrong thing. Horrible service.
The barbacoa is insanely delicious. Love this place, I see it in my dreams.
So since moving to Denver about a year ago I've been checking out all the delicious Mexican food and this is right up there with some of the tastiest I've had. Ordered four carnita tacos and a tamale. Both outstanding. Monika was our host and she was awesome. Will definitely be a return customer.
Overall their food is good. My favorites include the tacos and the pupuas.
I had the taco plate with carne asada. The food is decent. You may wanna add some salt to the meat as it's kinda bland. The salsa roja and salsa verde that came with my meal were very good. I like the location as it's only a 5 minute drive from my place. Overall I enjoyed my meal and since it's so close to my house I will be eating here on a regular basis. I can't wait to try their pupusas and other menu items.
Love this restaurant friendly staff excellent food ?.
Do not go here it’s the worst service ever. Been waiting 30 minutes for our food and three people ordered behind us and got their food already
Horrible service 1 hour waiting even that i called to place the order for 2 breakfast plates and 1 pupusa and the food was cold i paid for one horchata 3.99 that i never got. The lady asked so your missing one horchata? You want ice? "Yes" she asked three times the same stupid question and still she never gave me nothing to drink so eating cold food without a drink wow i will never go back.
These...artists of the craft of Venezuelan cuisine and culture are are rare gem, and (umhum) a secret that should not be kept. Good.....no...great DUCKING (YKWIM) cuisine from artists!
