The owner at this place is outrageously rude and unprofessional. It was my first time going there and meeting up with a friend I hadn’t seen in a while. The place was busy on a Sunday morning. Had to wait ~ 15 min to get sat. Food was pretty average and didn’t take a long time to come out. Shortly after an hour, Danny (owner) came by and tapped on the table and told us we had to hurry up and leave soon so they could sit other tables. We looked around and there were plenty of empty tables so we kept finishing our drinks and catching up before heading out. About 15 min later, Danny came by again and was being very aggro about telling us to leave. He got very agitated and told us they needed to make business and we had to leave. We said that no one had told us that you only had about an hour before you had to leave. Danny then proceeded to have a meltdown and agitatedly tell us this is how it is every weekend. He was yelling at this point. We replied this was our first time going there and we didn’t know and there were open tables so we didn’t think we had to rush so much. He kept yelling/talking over us then ripped our bill off our table and yelled that now we didn’t have to pay and to just leave.I’ve never experienced anything like this, it was so outrageous! Will never be back and definitely don’t recommend to go there unless you’re just going to quickly eat and leave. The food wasn’t anything special, although decently priced. The other staff at the restaurant was pretty friendly. The establishment itself was kinda dingy. The owner should seriously consider anger management if he’s going to be treating first timers at his establishment like this. We didn’t even get an attitude with him and he went off the handle. Very upsetting dining experience.
Craving a classic diner breakfast experience? This is it. I had the Manchaka skillet on my first visit and I was throughly impressed. Fresh jalapeños gave a little zing, great portion, really tasty, satisfyingly simple. I'll be back for sure.
One of my favorite places to stop for breakfast, I visit Denver once or twice a year, I always stop at Carnations. The food is great, you better show up with a empty gut, as the servings are large. This place is always rocking with customers. I’ve never seen this place with less than one table vacant. Lastly the staff, they work very hard and the smiles are not fake, their work ethic is rare to see. The owners must treat their employees well, plus it was good to see some of the same employees still working there before the pandemic. Keep the great tasting food and service.
Very good food. One order was enough for two meals.
This is a cute diner with great food. I loved the down home feel of it and the staff were really nice. I could tell they were having staffing issues because everyone was so busy but it didn’t affect the service at all. It was delicious and I really enjoyed it.
Biscuits and gravy was terrible. The gravy had no sausage taste and in fact, tasted old. I have had B&G from Florida to Wyoming, these are at the bottom. Scrambled eggs were flat. The sausage links were brown and serve style. Performed. This place has gone way down hill over the last 20 years. I have eaten here since the 1980s. But this is my first review. Next time I will head to Dennys.
Just what my hungry, green chili starved body was looking for. Maybe not the best breakfast burrito out there. More hash brown ratio to meat for a "supreme"; but it covered my base. Now to go curl up in a ball and hibernate for half a day.
We attend Danny's Carnation restaurant approximately 2 - 3 times per month. The food served is high quality, with generous portions.Wait Staff are some of the hardest working individuals I have ever witnessed.Yet they have consistently proven to be very friendly and welcoming to their customers.Although this restaurant in not sleek, modern, nor stylish, it is a testament to old school Diners and their foundations of quality food and service.I highly recomend this friendly local business.Parking can be a tad tricky, so allow a little extra time.
The Food here is great. The skillets are so hardy. It’s an honest to goodness diner with great portion sizes and lots of flavor. The food comes out fast. There’s friendly wait staff and lots of regulars. It’s just a fantastic spot for great diner style food. Fair warning, it’s super busy on the weekends so get there early or late!
The food here is awesome, Danny and his wife are just awesome down to earth people. We used to eat here all the time when we lived in Denver. If you're hungry and want a good old fashioned dinner to sit down and relax with some good company. You can't go wrong with Danny's carnation.
