Overall, a very disappointing experience. The food was mediocre at best - rissoto with pork had virtually no meat in it at all and was bland and tasteless. Sausage and peppers was pretty good - salad was okay but nothing special. The broccoli which the waitress raved about was awful . In general, I'd say this restaurant is long past its prime, living on a reputation from 20 years ago when the food was much better, portions larger, and service better.
We had Shea who was a fantastic server. I asked for a nice table and we were set on the patio which was lovely .
A great selection of food which was delicious. The mussel appetizer was fabulous. The wait staff was very attentive. It was a relaxing and enjoyable dinner. I highly recommend.
Such a lovely restaurant. We hadn’t been there for many years and it was just as lovely as we remembered it. Special evening to celebrate my daughter’s sweet 16!
Our first time there. The menu is strictly family style- dishes are for 2 or 5. The food was quite good but the wine bottles were way overpriced.
Food was great. Service had issues and we waited a while for our food. But I’m sure it was a one off. We’re big fans of Carmines
Usually one of my favorite places to dine but after our experience I’m not rushing back. Everything started out well - got seated right away, got water and waiter showed up. After we gave our drink order it went downhill. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks. We had 2 people show up late and they gave our waiter their drink order. After 10 minutes he came back and had forgotten what they ordered - once he had their order again, it was another 10 - 15 minutes to get the drinks. The waiter took our food order. The salad came out right away and was cold and delicious. The food took another 50 minutes. By then we were very hungry - the waiter assured us we had ordered enough but it wasn’t enough. Very frustrating dining experience.
Carmine’s remains the Italian restarant in Denver for classic family style Italian food as one would get in beloved restaurants on the east coast but at an even higher level of quality and diversity. A Denver treasure
I ordered pesto primavera and it was as supposed to be seasonal vegetables. It was mostly peppers and onions. The veal Parmesan was good. Service was good.
Whether I want to impress friends, enjoy an incredible meal or celebrate a family moment, it's at the top of my list to visit. Reservations strongly suggested.
