This is the second year I’ve ordered my daughters birthday cake from Cakes by Karen and will be the last. Both years the cake has been messed up. The first year it looked great but they didn’t include the correct filling. This year, the cake looked nothing like I asked. I sent a pic of what I wanted and it was completely wrong! The only fondant should have been the face! At 100 bucks a pop I’d expect a cake a tad closer to the image provided! I’ll stick to king soopers, thanks! Images below.
This picture does don’t do it justice. The cake was better than the original inspiration photo, and I was so impressed. The price was extremely reasonable and it was amazing for my sons first birthday.
I've gone to CBK for graduation and special birthday cakes over the past several years, they always make them amazing! They're very responsive and friendly too.
I was trying to find German chocolate cupcakes and carrot cake cupcakes for a birthday. I called Cakes by Karen and they delivered! The cupcakes were so delicious! A big hit at the party. They were super flavorful and soft. They were definitely just what we wanted. We will for sure be ordering our cake needs again from this bakery!
Just ate some cupcakes at a party that got them from cakes by Karen. They tasted really good. So taste wise 5 stars. Bread and icing were done very well.
Fantastic cake! I’ve ordered several and never been disappointed. Inexpensive as well and better than anything from the grocery.
I was very disappointed with the German chocolate frosting on a chocolate cake. should be on a homemade German chocolate cake. tasted like a box cake and Pillsbury frosting. surprised you are still in business. so disappointed. can't say anything good about the red velvet either. red velvet should be made with cream cheese frosting. I do not recommend Cakes by Karen at all. I'm sure my reviews will be deleted because they are negative reviews. I will be checking back to see how long they might possibly stay up

I needed a lemon cake for a birthday, the cake was delicious it was tastefully decorated I had to put off the cake being picked up the day of the birthday because we needed to get tested for Covid so they generously held the cake until I could pick it up the next day and on top of that made another cake I will be back, they went above and beyond THANK YOU !!!!!!
I placed an order for my 40TH Birthday party. I went to pick up my cake and I was beyond devastated! The cake I received did not look like what I asked for. Major details were missing and it literally looked like a 10 year quickly put it together. When I complained I was basically told by KAREN HERSELF do you want it or not !Sadly I left the $89 cake and the 3 $15 cupcakes I ordered and mainly due to the poor customer service. How do you tell someone “oh well” 2 hours before there Birthday party!!!!I WILL NEVER REFER ANOTHER PERSON nor SPEND ANOTHER $ with them.0 on customer service.
