This was our first time eating at Bastien's and we were very optimistic after reading all the reviews. Upon our arrival our waitress let us knkw about the 86 year history of the resturant and how good everything was. We started with the escargot and after eating half of them we noticed a fly in the dish. We let our waitress know and she was very apologetic about it. We said it was OK and proceeded with our meal. When our steaks arrived we noticed how tough they were. They were so hard to cut that the entire table was shaking as we were cutting into the then. Needless to say this whole experience was not good at all and I can not recommended anyone to this place.

Wow! I can’t comment on their specialty sugar rub , but my god are the steak delicious! We both had NY strips, two different temperature requests and both were perfect; oh, and the onion soup is well worth the up charge. But coke here for the martinis, holy heck they’re amazing. Our server, Ed, was so wonderful. Great recommendations and very attentive! Definitely come here, you’ll be very happy.

Our waiter Ed was great. The food was fantastic. The wedge salad was perfect. The steak cooked to perfection and the twice baked potato made for a excellent lunch the next day. Overall a great experience and I would recommend highly and return anytime I'm in Denver.

Home of the Sugar Steak! I suggest getting that along with any of their other steak toppings. This place was very cute, small, dim lit & perfect for a classic night out. Their french onion soup & caesar salad were flavorful ..and their steak was cooked to perfection!

Had an absolutely amazing dining experience here. Went to celebrate a family occasion and the atmosphere and attitude of the entire staff made our evening so special. The food was delectable, and prepared with such attention to detail. There is a reason they have been in business 82 years. I highly recommend.

Waitress definitely knew her menu. Amazing that the restaurant is celebrating their 86th year anniversary. Very little parking, outside of the restaurant did not look too inviting with darker interior. The bread with the butter was pretty delicious. New York strip with the caramelized sugar was tasteful. Most of the desert was good, except the creme brulee, barely a sliver. The hollandaise sauce on the steak, was not an exciting taste. Garlic mashed potatoes tasted homemade. Liked that there was a mock alcohol drinks.

The food and service was excellent. We had a few drinks, some wine and the Wagyu special with Gorgonzola crust. The steak was cooked perfectly and the vegetables (which as we all know are often over cooked and an afterthought). I would highly recommend. My only “complaint” would be that some aspects of the interior were “tired” which took nothing away from the food or service. Plus, UCONN women lost the national championship as I was standing in line for the single stall bathroom.

Great food, service and atmosphere !!

First time here. The food was delicious, the music was great and our server Ed was the best! Attentive, gave us good recommendations and over all great service! Definitely coming back to try some more.

Worth the wait. Great atmosphere, food is delicious, and craft cocktails are fun. They have a nice selection of alcohols. It is a steak place so don't come here if you don't like steak! Tons of different versions to choose from and try to save room for dessert!
