I found the food at Anise to be super. Rolls combine freshness of herbs with the tang of excellent dipping sauces. We agreed that the Hanoi sausages were a standout. Extensive Vegan menu. And lots of good beers on tap! Weâll be back.
Very delicious Pho. Sake was good! Prices were very fair and very convenient location. The staff were very attentive. Great for a hot meal on a cold day.
Anise is an undiscovered (by most people) gem. The pho is always great, and it is convenient to get to and the service is attentive.

Lunch with a friend and she likes this place so I was game to try it. It’s an upscale Asian restaurant serving mainly Vietnamese dishes. A modern Vietnamese eatery is how they describe themselves. She said that the pho was good so I followed her lead. She ordered the beef pho and I chose the shrimp pho lunch special. It is a medium sized entree with a spring roll and drink. Went with the pork spring roll instead of vegan and a sprite. The decor is pleasant and simple. Photos adorn one wall. We sat in the lower dining area. The upper one was more of a bar set up. The spring roll was crispy and flavorful. I put in the mint, bean sprouts, chili peppers, lime, chili and oyster sauces into the pho soup. Accidentally poured in the spring roll dipping sauce into my soup. But they all mixed to make my soup flavorful and spicy. The shrimp were not over cooked which was nice. And the noodles were soft and tender. The medium didn’t seem a big portion but I’m trying to be more mindful of my portions so it was enough. On a snowy day the pho hit the spot. It’s a little pricey to me and parking is on the street which makes it tricky. The server was friendly and attentive. Very respectful. A pleasant setting for a ‘catch up with a friend’ lunch.
2nd time in Denver and HAD to stop here again. Their curry with tofu and rice was fantastic and I got the Anise vegan special again (literally the reason I came back) and it lived up to expectations! The food is definitely high-quality and fresh and I can’t wait to fly back just to try some more of their dishes!
Shout out to the owner for explaining to customers where to make your pho gluten free or not. I am grateful for the opportunity to have the lunch special which is a little of everything- drink, fried vegan roll, and a vegan soup! Yea! That’s right, they have a chicken, beef, or vegan broth! Definitely the place to go when it’s snowing because they make sure they are available and providing just right amount of warmth and comfort. Most importantly- thank you to the host who explained that they would give me extra veggies instead of tofu when they saw I removed the tofu pieces! You guys are the best when it comes to customer service. ??
This place has a nice environment, and that is the only pro I could find sadly. The food was extremely bland, including our two appetizers and bowls of pho. Our service was almost too good - we were interrupted every minute asking if we were ready to order (not exaggerating) and felt oddly pressured to order right after sitting down. I would not recommend this place, but I hope they improve because it does have potential.
Bar area is beautiful. Very welcoming staff. Order came out fairly quick. The lunch special Beef Combo Pho was very filling and hit the spot.
Great food! Had tried the Vietnamese fish dish and it was amazing! So many flavors and love the sauce - was something I had never tried before. Would recommend
