Ethiopian food addict. Really enjoy Abyssinia. We have been going / getting takeout from this place for many years. Their food is very flavorful.Personal favorites are the kik Alicha, Yemisir Wot, and the Whole Green Lenil (also known as Yemisir Alicha elsewhere). If you are new to Ethiopian food, expand your experiences and try it. You eat with your hands and use a “bread” called injera to scoop up the food. Injera is made with Teff flour and has a sour taste due to the production process. Personally l love it.
Positively delightful! It was my first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and our server was friendly and patient with us. Highly recommend the meat and vegetable sampler. It could easily feed 3-4 people. We had the plantains for an appetizer, best plantains I’ve ever had! Also tried the honey wine - I would recommend trying it at least once, comes in a cool glass. We had both the gluten & gluten free injera (bread like food served with the meal) - both were delicious.Friendly staff, clean restaurant, reasonably priced, very positive experience.
We showed up pretty late and the restaurant was technically closed. Usually any restaurant would restrict their service after closing time but the owner of this place was so kind that she made fresh injera’s and served us food. Kindness and faith in humanity restored. The food is extremely delicious and the ambiance is amazing. I’m definitely going back here again ❤️
Yum Yum Yum Yum!!!If you have never had Ethiopian you need to come here!!If you love Ethiopian you need to come here!!We took our unexperienced friends here and they loved it!! We didn't know what to order so we asked the waitress for her recommendations and went with everything she said. It was all amazing!!This is a must atleast once!! But once you do, you will be back!!
Amazing food, great portions. I was disappointed to see the plastic water bottles and styrofoam containers. If the tap water is not good quality, a faucet-attached water filter could be a good option.
One of the best Mediterranean spots in Denver. The lunch lamb shawarma plate is so generous and delicious. The mean was perfectly cooked. Everything so flavorful. The staff is nice and attentive. I asked them to swap the tzatziki sauce for toum and they happily obliged with no up charge. Great price for everything too.
Ethiopian food is my absolute favorite, so we were excited to try this place. Not sure if we came on an off night, but none of the staff seemed to want us there. First, they started blasting dance music from the small stage on the side of the bar, then actually getting the food took almost an hour. Since we were the only table in there, it was somewhat shocking that everything was taking so long and the staff was absent. Multiple take out orders came in with the diners walking in to pick them up. The staff kept telling them they hadn't made the food yet and to come back later. It was such a strange and uncomfortable experience. We had to reorder the appetizers that never came out and the food was poorly executed once we finally got it. Sadly, we won't be going back. The restaurant as a whole was not clean, including the bathrooms.
It's comfort food; I didn't grow up having these dishes, but they somehow still remind me of home.My only critique? More jalapeños in the salad and more of the vinaigrette! Fantastic food!
This is my favorite restaurant! The staff are so friendly and customer oriented. I had an Uber eats order here and they closed once my driver got there but they stayed there until I got my food. I greatly appreciate it. The people who work here are great and the food is also pretty great!
Authentic, delish, amazing, great atmosphere…. What time trying to say is just go here, it will be a fine meal decision.
