If you are Thai or Asian don't come here, it is white washed food.Worst thai food I have had, everything was too sweet and non authentic. I asked for thai chili peppers and they didn't even have any. The beef in my dishes was velvety like in Chinese food. The food took less than 5 minutes to come out and it tasted like there is no effort or love in the dishes. The ladies who served us were nice and funny. I had to add lots of spice to my dishes to make them enjoyable. The satay chicken portion was extremely small. In all, the food is just for white people and that is probably who they cook for mostly. So for white people maybe it is good but if you are Asian you'll be mad you spent money here.
I did dinner here when passing through town. This is your classic/standard Thai food place. Food was ok and service friendly. The pricing and portion sizes are different for lunch dinner. Dinner portions are huge - essentially a double serving that could easily feed two. Recommend splitting an entree and ordering extra rice... unless you want to take home left overs. The woman who brought out the food was very playful and spirited.
My husband has been eating here for months and I finally have it a try. His food is always delicious, but I wanted to try something else! I ordered the panang curry and it was absolutely delicious! There was quite an assortment of vegetables, all of which were cooked perfectly fork tender. The curry sauce was perfectly spiced and oh, so creamy! I also ordered vegetable egg rolls and steamed dumplings, both of which were as delicious as the rest of the meal. Now on to service: the waitstaff are quick and friendly, and able to make recommendations for any picky eater, including my vegan self! The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the large portion sizes. I will definitely be going back!
Wow! My wife and I agree, this is the best Thai food we've ever had, and we've eaten all over. She had the Roasted Ginger Duck and I had the Thai Basil Chicken extra spicy. Delicious! We highly recommend.
We were devastated that all the Thai spots off the highway were too busy. We settled for chipotle next door only to realize the Thai spot next door was open. We went and it was SO good. The quality, serving size and everything, including the serving plates was so good. Totally recommend.
Environnement 4 starsFood 4 starsStaff 5 starsPrice $$/$$$$A nice restaurant to try out. The noodles are slightly on the hard side but it's ok. The shumai is nice. The curry is good as well. Not in the high end restaurant league but I would recommend giving it a try ?
It was a miss. Definitely not for me. Ordered “Thai hot” and got dishes that were sweet as sugar in my opinion. When we told the waitress the food was very sweet, she said “all Thai food is sweet.” She’s not wrong as most Thai food I’ve eaten is sweet to some extent, but this was too much. To be fair, the food was given in generous portions and I can definitely see that a certain diner will like the way the food tastes, but for me, it was like eating candy. I wish I didn’t have to give a poor review as I like Thai food, but this place didn’t hit the spot for me.
Absolutely love panang curry with chicken! Haven't tried anything else because I love it so much, I order it every time. But my wife tries different items; she had Mongolian beef last time. It looked very good. Also appreciate the happy hour drink prices.
A great restaurant with a nice ambiance setting. The food was good but a little on the sweet side for me. Overall it was a good dinner experience.
Thai Basil is an unbelievable establishment. If you are looking for genuine Thai food in the Colorado Springs area, look no further than this slice of heaven on Academy. The drunken noodles are as good as any I’ve ever had, and there are many other decadent dishes on the menu. In addition, the prices are extremely affordable and the staff is efficient and helpful. 100% Recommend
