I enjoy the coffee but have a heck of a time getting a breakfast sandwich without cheese at the southside location. I unfortunately can't eat cheese and most places do a great job removing on request with the occasional slip up that I can understand. The southside location fails every single time at this request (at least a 10 for 10 over the last year if not more). Not sure what the issue is but it is consistent and unfortunate.
I really enjoyed their New Yorker Bagel (pictured). It was very fresh and all around delicious. I also enjoyed their Chai latte (with 2 shots of espresso) so much that I grabbed another for the road. Solar Roast is a fun place to just sit and soak up downtown, especially if it is nice enough to sit outside. They also have a unique, impactful mission, using solar energy to roast their coffee. Grab a bag of coffee to take home and enjoy even longer!
Great atmosphere, tasty ☕️We just made coffee to go, but definitely should try one of the brownies or cookies. The ladies were super nice ?You can grabe coffee to grind
Looking for a local coffee place and walked up to Solar. Great coffee options and baked goods. Indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy company and watch passers by. A definite plus we found this place.
This place is so fun!! Food and drinks are good, service is good, and they sell records!!??? The place is super cute and welcoming too! It's ok the expensive side, but definitely worth it. I love the ham and cheese croissants.
I’d say this is a good place to go and meet friends or have a meeting for work. The environment is relaxed. I think the one issue I found was their coffee is a bit confusing to tell when the roast date is as all their coffee bags have a “sell by” date on the roast date. They only have drip coffee in the means of brewed coffee. They do have espresso. The drip coffee wasn’t spectacular but it wasn’t horrible either.
Latte was smooth. Only gluten free breakfast option was a gf bagel prepared on the same surfaces as gluten. Another reviewer talked about gf oatmeal and pastries but no luck today. Could've had a Kind or Bobo's bar but I've got similar in the car. My partner didn't like the regular sausage eye opener sandwich - said it was weak.
Love this place! If I am ever within 20 miles of a Solar Roasters, I make a detour to stop in. Lavender White Mocha and veggie breakfast burrito are my absolute favorites!
Often times Solar Roast is not open during stated times on website. Very frustrating especially when making the effort to drive 30 minutes each way for their product. For the last year they have ground the 5lb packages of coffee when purchased but suddenly they have never done this. Tired of the frustration, spending my time and money somewhere else.
Conveniently near the Tesla supercharger in Colorado Springs. Dropped in by chance and liked the vibes: music, barista, records for sale before the register and the beefy bags of coffee beans wish we would have taken home.Recommend stopping in if you’re stopping for a charge or in the area.
