We have been to this location one other time before our most recent experience. We walked in around 950pm and they had closed the main dining area. We were informed by the lady at the door that there was open seating in the bar area. When we looked in the bar area all but 1 or 2 seats at the bar were taken and none next to each other. The entire south side had chairs on the table and booths closed. We looked and saw there was one booth with dishes on it. The rest of the seats were backless in the aisle. Not somewhere we were interested in sitting. We waited about 5 minutes to see if the servers would clear the booth. I then decided to ask the lady at the front if it was okay to get the booth cleared off so that we could sit there instead. She said yes and said she would inform the servers about it and said it wouldn't be a problem. We stood there for a little bit as one dish at a time was slowly removed over the period of 15 minutes. The servers kept awkwardly looking at us as we were standing waiting to see if they would take one minute to clear the table for us.After the time reached 1020pm I walked over and asked one of the servers, politely, if we were going to be able to sit in the booth soon. She rudely responded saying she "..was busy doing literally everything." So we decided to take our business elsewhere. They didn't appear understaffed or in a rush of any sort. I felt like we were more than resonably patient in waiting and that it was inappropriate for them to act like they were clearing the table for us then just leave the dishes on the edge, on more than one occasion. This may seem petty but some people, i would even say most people, don't like sitting in backless chairs or in the middle of busy pathways considering NOBODY was sitting in those seats. I don't feel like the attitude from the server was justified in any manner. We might consider visiting this location in the future but it is not likely.
Very tasty food and the service was good our server gave us plenty of refills overall good experience.
Had the lunch buffet. Price was good ($9), but the pizza was average at best. The lack of toppings was glaringly obvious and disappointing.
I have been to Old Chicago a couple of times, it's not cheap but I don't think the prices are bad. The service was very good. I would recommend that when you come to eat, eat in the regular seating area and not the bar area. There's poor lighting that makes you feel claustrophobic, especially at night. They have good flavored lemonades and I liked the Sicilian Pepperoni Rolls. Not a bad place for pizza items, but I would not recommend the Turkey and Club.
I'm not sure why but there always seems to be a wait (pre pandemic and now). I'm not sure if they're chronically short staffed or what. I've also noticed other tables get service quicker no matter the wait staff. This visit I waited 40 minutes for food, but was told numerous times my food was coming out next. They really weren't that busy but everything just takes longer. Only ever had this happen at this location definitely not going back to this one. I try to be understanding but 40 minutes is excessive when every other table around me gets their food and many of those were seated 10-20 minutes after me. Didn't have a large party, 4 total: 2 adults and 2 kids. Food was good, otherwise rating would be lower.
Loved this place! The detroit pepperoni pizza was delicious , the boneless chicken was tiny bites but still good and a blue cheese chicken celery wrapped in dough, delicious! Place was nice and staff was friendly. Would definitely visit again.
We were having a family gathering with members from out of state and they have never been to this place. The first thing that happened is the members who had arrived there had to wait to be seated which was a very long time. Upon being seated the table was a complete mess and had to request for it to be cleared and cleaned. The staffers were very rude and the dishes were cleared out but the table was not wiped down. After the others arrived I had requested to have the table wiped off. Our server came back and threw a dirty cloth on the table and walked away. She obviously had a horrible attitude and was not on her game. She was very upset about something that didn't appear to have anything with us. However it was apparent that she was not going to be able to accommodate us as customers who were treating her with respect but wasn't reciprocal. The food was OK, the service and the attitude was not. Kindness and respect in the service industry goes a long way regarding how experience can be achieved. Therefore, we will not be going to this establishment again. We were just astonished at how poorly we were treated. Not a good experience at all.
I was and still am quite disappointed in the quality of the chicken wings I received... I'm not even sure if they can rightfully be called a wing. If I didn't let you know what they were, By looking at the pictures I've provided, You would have a hard time identifying them as such. If this is the best they can do perhaps they should stop selling them. One even has feather remnant's baked in. Giving 1 star is a star too many.
This place was great! Get the cheesesteak!
11/18/21 about 6:00 pm - I was there with my wife and two guests from out of town and I am sorry to say that this was by far the worst dining experience in my entire life. The food was great as always, but our waiter was horrible. Just awful. Rude, inpatient and incompetent are probably nice ways to describe his behavior. When asked about the draft beer, he replied: “I’m a smoker not a drinker” and handed my guest the beer menu. When my sister asked about onion rings “we don’t have any”, when asked about cheese sticks “we don’t have that either”, and when my wife asked a question about something else (I forgot what about), he seemed angry and said “guys, it’s all on the menu, just look at that”… unbelievable. And then suddenly he kind of lost it and told us how we are causing him anxiety attacks, how he is super busy and how we are “playing games with him”.Then I got angry and asked him what he was talking about, nobody is playing games here, we are just trying to place an order, he abruptly stepped away from the table and said “this is not going to work, I’m getting you another waiter”.Complete insanity. We got another waiter (who was awesome), I asked for the manager, explained to him what happened, he stated that he would talk to him and offered a discount. I replied that this was not about a discount, but that he should know how one his waiters is treating their guests. And that was it. This whole experience was extremely unpleasant and spoiled our evening.
