Very enjoyable experience and we will go back for more to try other items on the menu.. today we tried the Kraken and it is a very relaxing beverage
Was here to meet a group and it’s not a great space for group conversation. I was told the other location on Boulder Street has more character/is nicer, but haven’t seen that location yet. Overall, the feeling in this place is a little dark and dreary, not chill and relaxing, but ok if you’re looking for what they’re serving.
I’m from FL (10+ years of drinking kava) and in town just for a couple days.1) When I walked in and sat at the bar, I was not immediately greeted. The kavatender, even if they’re busy, should always greet someone new. Even if the greeting is “welcome to Ohana, I’ll be with you in just a minute or two.”2) As a guy in his mid-30s who doesn’t know anyone in town, and also a guy in recovery from kratom addiction, I felt a little uncomfortable that the crowd seemed to be mostly early 20-somethings all drinking kratom out of white cups. It doesn’t look like the kratom is properly brewed here as I could see the leaf particles in the guy’s cup who was next to me.3) There is no indication of that good old ‘community’ vibe here. The kava was OK at best but it was served in a washable plastic (maybe acrylic) cups. Kava should be served in shells or little bowls that resemble shells. On a positive note, the inside looked pretty decent. It was cool seeing an old drawing of native Fijian peoples drinking kava together in a ceremony… sad that I don’t think there is any ceremonial vibe at this bar to honor those native peoples. The place also had a separate room in the back where it looks like someone could go to study or be alone… that was the highlight of the bar.I hope to return one day to find that this place has changed for the better. Good luck and God bless.
Happened to see this place while driving by and dropped in as soon as they opened. Bartender and the patron next to me at the bar were both awesome and super friendly. Haven't had kava in a while but the kraken recommended by the bartender was on point?. I actually loved the taste and a few 4oz. shots of those and a hot Indo tea had me on that level. Very layed back place and I loved the ambiance inside. Had some great conversation and great drinks...I was sad when I had to leave! I will be back as soon as I can!
Fun bartenders and amazing kava and kombucha!!! Nice chill relaxed atmosphere.
really miss being able to see the regulars dogs. since the owner banned people bringing their pooches in, i’ve been staying away a little more. hope to see this change some day soon.
I love this place. As someone who frequents kava bars....this place doesn't disappoint.
Best kava in town!!! So fresh and I love their lavender lemonade!!!
My son is a regular at both locations and everyone always takes such amazing care of him. He introduced me to your drinks and I am so glad!! As an amputee, sometimes working long shifts on my prosthetic can be challenging. The Kava really helps with getting me through my long shifts on my foot ?. Love how mellow it makes me and how it gets me through my days. Would definitely recommend to EVERYONE!
I went to the Ohana Kava Bar in hopes of tasting something new and I was not disappointed! The kava had me feeling A1 just like the sauce!! I tried two of the $4 shots with pineapple syrup, coconut milk, and some kraken! I also tried the berry smoothie with kava concentrate! The smoothie helped to mask the taste more than the shots. However, the shots were easier to drink for me! The atmosphere was very welcoming with an awesome bartender!
