I was a bit taken aback by the chicken and its seemingly unique flavor(wasn’t for me), but the brisket and beans are a work of art. The sauces are less vinegar-esque than some other southern places and perfect to me. The service is good enough to get the job done but they seemed busy for a two person operation. Either way, you’re coming here for barbecue not a damn waiter and wine service. I recommend the patio area out the back. You can take in the smells of barbecue and enjoy the fresh Colorado air. Oddly enough, this hole in the wall doubles as a gas station and the owners of the barbecue joint run both. Don’t let it deter you. Would love to visit this joint again. Keep it up!
Got the 2 meat plate brisket and chicken with BBQ baked beans & potato salad. I thought it was great and the patio was very enjoyable. Very good service as well, made me feel welcomed as a first time customer. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!
The meals here are amazing. Whether smoked brisket, pulled pork or Hot Link it’s all ? legit. I prefer western beans and green beans w/ bacon ? for sides. The wild-side sauce is my go to. On Saturdays they bring in bands and have an outdoor bar. Very fun spot with great service. Worth the drive even if not in Black Forest.
We've lived in Black Forest for a couple of years and have noticed the full parking lot here, but never stopped. Finally did - and so glad! Wow! Top-notch experience from start to finish! The gentleman behind the counter was extremely friendly and chill. The food was seriously the best BBQ we've found in town! We tried the brisket, ribs and hot links. No complaints here! I was impressed with the sides, too! Not many places get the potato salad just right, but this place does! We'll def make this a regular stop! Great Job!
This place has the authentic “hole in the wall” feeling, with fantastic food. Food has been excellent both times I visited. Fast, hot and fresh, they make their on BBQ sauces, coleslaw was crunchy. We love their brisket and it is really fairly priced. Excellent outdoor seating and occasional live music, go on a day when you can enjoy the outside. They do have some indoor seating if the weather is bad. I noticed today they serve margaritas and a few other cocktails, next item I will get that for sure.
Great little place with good BBQ, drinks and a nice convenience store if you're driving through. Very clean with warm, pleasant staff.Outstanding!
Best barbecue I’ve ever had hands down! Service was amazing so kind and friendly. They were genuinely interested in how my day was. Our food came out in less than 2 minutes! You also have to try the Black Forest burnt onion bbq sauce it’s amazing! Truly one of a kind bbq place love it so much!!
Ummm well... I wasn't impressed. They left the membrane on the ribs, and I don't think they seasoned the meat. Sauces are on point. Sides need work too. The staff are amazing ?.
Staff were friendly. Meat was moist. My favorite was the brisket. I also tried the pulled pork and ribs. All of it was good. The burn onion bbq sauce was my favorite. I like sweet sauces over vinegar ones though. I also tried the sweet and tangy sauce. It was good too, but more on the vinegar side.We tried the special frito pie (think walking taco) and it was good. The red chili had good flavor and wasn't too spicy. The green bean were a little to spicy for my taste but we're good otherwise. And the potato salad tasted like what I grew up with, I enjoyed it.My SO had the hot link. I don't care for them so I'm not a good judge, lol, but I tried and and didn't hate it. Haha.They had an interesting mountain dew in the fountain machine I had never seen before. Goji and strawberry. We tasted it, it was sweet and interesting.Will definitely go back.The owner said they're having a crawfish boil on June 4th I believe. Sounds fun. The band they had at the last one will be coming back as well. We weren't able to stop by that day, but we did drive by. It made me laugh bc they were playing on the roof. Hah.
The pulled pork is really good, try some of the sweet and tangy sauce to add a kick to your pork. Potato salad is really good as well.
