Neat old building. The salad bar was good, pizza was nasty. Very little cheese, the crust wasn't very good, and it was cold. We got our order as soon as it came up so the pizza wasn't sitting very long. The young lady at the front was pleasant and helpful but the food was just mediocre. Kind of expensive for what we got too.
My family has been going to Fargo's for years! It has a beautiful and unique interior. It's also my husband's favorite pizza place. The pizza crust is firm so the pizza isn't floppy. I love getting the super combination pizza with the sliced tomatoes on the side. Why? If you don't eat the pizza quickly, the tomatoes c a n make the pizza mushy. Also, if we don't finish, I have sliced tomatoes! He also loves the El Fargarito (taco pizza) ... because ... why do two people need two giant pizzas? Umm ... leftovers! There are bathrooms on both floors. There is no elevator. As you go up the stairs at the back of the restaurant, the last railing on the right is a little wiggly. I'm glad/not glad that the lines were decently long, meaning that folks are going to Fargo's, but we had to wait in line to order and wait in line to get our drinks. I've seem some comments on the speed of service ... umm ... yeah, I've never gone to Fargo's for fast service. I do LOVE the magic mirrors that tell us when our order is ready. There are TWO Pokemon Go gyms, one right at the restaurant and one at the sign along Platte Ave. If you walk around the area (to walk off the too much pizza you ate, because we did a good job of finishing off about a giant pizza for some reason), there are many Pokemon Go stops and gyms in the area.
This was a fun experience for my wife and four kids. It is kind of like an old time saloon. The kids enjoyed exploring and looking at all the decorations. The food was actually pre5 good as well. I expected it to be just another theme place with ok pizza. We did not have the salad bar but it looked great and an attendant was on it at all times. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the kids said the arcade games were mostly not functioning. Really not a huge deal and I don't care but the kids were kind of bummed about that. Over all we had a good time and the food was good.
Food was horrible, customer service was as well. Was not happy and feel like I wasted money here. Line for bar to get drinks including soft drinks long, didn’t bother getting dessert due to line as well. Never again complete waste with a very not exactly Victorian theme. It’s like a western, meets Victorian, meets plantation… with a random carousel horse… oh and wax figures eating… don’t recommend!
I feel I am qualified to give a review of the “reopened” Fargo’s Pizza in Colorado Springs. I grew up in CS and Fargo’s Pizza was a “go to” for family gatherings to pizza party’s after football games for years. My family and I had enjoyed Fargo’s since it’s opening in the early 1970’s. As Colorado Springs used to be a wonderful place Fargo’s used to be a wonderful pizza restaurant. Things have certainly changed. Long story short this is not the Fargo’s pizza place of the past. The building looks the same. The pizza is different: if the cheese and sauce and toppings are from the same supplier I’d be surprised. At the very least somebody messed with some recipes….heck our pizza on the last visit was somewhat warm and was not sliced/cut properly. The salad bar is different….the thousand island and ranch are not the same dressings from the past. The crated cheddar cheese is not the same and other items are just different. Anyway…..in the end it really doesn’t matter as a whole new swathe of people have moved and keep moving into this once idyllic place. So Fargo’s Pizza is their pizza place now. They have nothing to compare it with. Just let it be known Fargo’s Pizza was the best pizza place in town until it wasn’t….:(…..Leon and Landon knew the secret to a great restaurant and it is really quit simple…..consistency.
Upside: Large parking reality of seating to accommodate any size party, pizza was good, salad bar good, western style decor. Prices average for this area.Downside: Seemed like only one person was cleaning off tables, etc. so tables and floor were dirty. Part of our food order was forgotten.Comments: Would go here again and would recommend. I like the decor.
I've read many reviews, workers saying the salad dressing is still the same, hasn't changed. But I have a strong sense of smell and taste, and it's gross, very different. Used to be my favorite. And I've read a few other reviews where others also noticed. And obviously the pizza is the the same. I'm so sad and disappointed. My friend had never been, I was excited that fargos had re opened so he could try it, but unfortunately he didn't get to experience what it once was. Only pizza place I used to like.
Waited 40 minutes to get pizza. When i went up to check on why it was not ready, i found it had been sitting under the heating lamp. I spoke with manager a d she was rude. She told me to eat it as is or return it. So the pizza i had to go for my son would be taken as well. Their were numerous customers having issues with orders. I had to wait another 15 minutes to get my order right. Manager was dresses sloppy.
Fargo's is a unique experience attempting to be like the old pizza restaurants before delivery that were wild west themed that needs to be experienced once. Everyone is dressed in saloon outfits and there's lots of old timey displays, but that's about it. Ordering takes place at one counter, food pickup at another, drink pickup at another, and there's a one time only salad bar, all of which contributes to traffic and waiting problems, which made things slow even when only a few tables were occupied, I can't imagine what it's like when full. There's a ton of pizza and other food options which all sound good. The crust of the pizza is interesting, very thin and light and crispy, like a cracker in a good way. The salad pizza is a little ridiculous, it's coated in thick slices of tomato, no way to actually eat it without dismantling the tomato shingles.
1) Staff was not very friendly. They did not explain where the drinks were picked up from.2) Ordered baked spaghetti. Sauce was not good and garlic bread was soggy.3) When you do pick up your food, it's next to the spot where staff come in and out of the kitchen, where people line up for drinks, where people go upstairs, and in close proximity to the salad bar. Setting aside concerns about people breathing on my food, navigating back to the table in that space was difficult. This place was so bad that my wife and I didn't eat hardly any of our food and went to another restaurant.
