We have been here several times and have always enjoyed our meals. It can get busy weekend mornings, but it is definitely worth the wait. Good sized portions and friendly staff.
I had the absolute pleasure of deciding to try this restaurant on our vacation, and I cannot recommend it enough. I had the sloppyhog burger and some messy fries, and I was in heaven from the first bite up until I had to give up because my stomach had enough. Everything was made from scratch (even the pickles!) and it was well worth trying, by far my favorite place in Colorado springs to eat. The wait staff are wonderful and I felt so much at home. Well worth a visit whether you are just visiting, or live here as well. 10 stars.
If you have not tried Doug’s it is a must. The Crunchy sandwich is amazing. Don’t forget to try the Sweet Toast
Love the New Mexico theme decor. Amazing fresh biscuits. Had the carne asada bowl with green chili sauce. Very good. Prices are reasonable and staff very friendly.
The portions are HUGE! Huge pancakes, huge burritos, huge omelettes. We really enjoyed the food, which was prepared quickly and accurately. We would have appreciated more space between us and the next table: when the gentleman next to me would push his chair back, it would crash into the side of mine and their conversation was basically our conversation as they were so loud we found it impossible to speak over them. (I was glad I didn’t have young kids with me because there was a lot of swearing.) Also, ask about prices ahead of time as some prices are not listed (like substituting a pancake for toast). I might try it again when it’s not as busy in there.
I should have gotten my fries with the chilies and cheeses. The black Betty amazing burger. The fat pat has bacon that is oh so good, thicc and crisp.
Terrible experience all the way around. Waited several minutes For anyone to acknowledge us, even though they weren't at all busy and 2employees were standing around chatting. We then waited about 10 minutes after being seated and no server came. The girl mopping floors had to go get a server for us. The cook brought our meals out which is fine, but the server never checked on us to see if we needed anything, which we did. Additionally, she forgot to ring in part of Our order. The worst part was, there was brown lettuce in my scrambled eggs! When we calmly and expressed dissatisfaction with our experience, she literally acted put out. When she brought the bill, she just tossed it on the table didn't look at us or say anything. We have been to Doug's before without any issues. But solely because of her rudeness we will not be back
Have to say it was pretty good, authentic NM chili, not sure, very mild. Not afraid to put meat on their sandwiches, spicy (not) Reuben was big and tasty, liked their fries too. Big meals, fair price not too bad
Went here on a whim with my boyfriend, and we were serv d by a woman named Yelena who was fantastic. She was cheerful and friendly, and the service was incredibly fast! She made it so relaxing and we insisted on giving her credit.Nice little place for breakfast, and the pancakes were worth taking home!
We stopped for breakfast on Thursday December 16th. The restaurant was full with just one server. Having spent time managing a restaurant myself, I was impressed on how efficient, friendly and fast she worked. We did not have to wait long before we were seated. Our order was taken and food came out fast. Was delicious! Will be back.
