Don’t waste your time! Go to Josh and John’s instead. My family and I were traveling through for vacation in Denver and looked up local ice cream shops because we like to try new ones when we travel. This place is a joke. Apparently this place is under new ownership and it shows. I found this out after a lengthy conversation with the young man working there about the fact that he doesn’t actually know what an affogato is, even though it’s on the menu for $5, but charged me $11 for one, and refused to refund money because he said “that’s how the new owner told me to charge for it”. But I digress… the ice cream is bland and icy, with few good flavors to choose from. They were also out of hot fudge, chocolate syrup, and sprinkles. The “affogatos” that my wife and daughter ordered were watery and the espresso was like coffee colored water. The only reason we chose to go to this place was because I thought some gelato sounded good. I wish I would have taken a picture…all they had was a case full of melty, congealed bins of color that looked like they had been there for days. I thought the only reason they would be displaying this as to start people towards their pitiful ice cream selection, which is what happened with us. We decided to stay and try the ice cream anyway and support a local business. Boy was that a mistake. I was so offended by the way the clerk handled the situation that I tried contacting the new owner. Boy was that a mistake as well. I think the young man behind the counter got his manners and lack of problem solving skills from this guy. What a joke. Completely honest review though: even without the negative interactions I would still not recommend going here. As an ice cream enthusiast, I’m telling you not to waste your time. Find a vendor that sells Josh and John’s ice cream (there are a couple in Manitou Springs) and go there! Way better ice cream!
Disappointed that i paid for my purchases and was told they were on the way for a hour before it was canceled without explanation and my refund won't post for a couple days. I think I've learned my lesson especially with so many choices available. Make sure you're comfortable with your purchase so you don't make the same mistake.
The staff was very welcoming. They were very friendly with my kids. The prices are pretty affordable for the flavor and quality of ice cream. My biggest issue with this company and shop is that inside and on the website is they claim freshly roasted coffee and a farm to table concept yet don’t provide information for the process or origin of how that happens. It’s a bit odd to claim that for over ten years but not have any information available. For this reason I rate it at four stars.
Perfect for a date night dessert, the staff gave us a warm welcome and some space to choose our desired flavors. Didn’t feel rushed at all, I got the blackberry flavor which blew my mind. I found my go to ice cream spot after living in the springs for a year!
Ice cream and gelato is delicious! I had the chai cookie crumble and the chai flavor was perfect. We had a large group and there was only one guy working. He was amazing, so patient, and got all our orders out quickly. We will definitely be back!
Stopped here multiple times during our visit to COS - once for ice cream and the other for gelato. Can’t go wrong with whatever you choose!
Yummy and quaint! We wanted to end our Friday night with a cookie, but the line was SO LONG. So we found this place just down the street, and were delighted! No line, knowledgeable staff, yummy gelato and ice cream!I had the bittersweet chocolate gelato and it hit the spot! There is also a cut little grassy area with cartoonish aspen trees just outside! Perfect spot to take some kids for ice cream then let them run it off! Lol!
Great ice cream! I tried the butter pecan and it was amazing. It’s also in a cool little shopping plaza (and Costco) so if you want to walk around / have dinner in the area :)!
Their cookies and cream is to die for! Other flavors are good too, but that was my favorite. They also offer military and police discounts.
We stopped in on our first night in Colorado and had THE BEST time. Jake & Adrian were amazing and the homemade gelato/ice cream possibilities were endless. We tried 10 different flavors cause we couldn’t decide & all of them were fantastic! Personal faves were both the flavors with banana.HIGHLY recommend this place!!
