Super slow service. We were there for 45 minutes before our waitress took our order. Appetizer was best part of meal....took an hour to arrive but the sushi nachos were great. Entrees did not impress. Bulgogi noodles were good portion but definitely gave food truck vibe. Sea bass special was not good. We thought the sauce salty and ravioli very strong in the cheese flavor and not very good with the fish. We were hoping to find a go-to spot near our house but do not see ourselves returning any time soon.
Went in with our restaurant review group @cos locavores and we were are absolutely delighted! The food was phenomenal and the drinks were heavenly! The staff was incredible kind and attentive. This quickly became one of our favorites!
We were greeted promptly. All staff were kind, knowledgeable of the menu, and professional at all times. The food was excellent and worth the cost. The menu may seem a little pricy, but from the first bite, you know it's all freshly made and local. Literally the best food I've tasted since moving to Colorado! (I used to live in Miami,FL and New Orleans,LA at one time. Flavor meccas of the US) I was thoroughly impressed. ? Overall, you'll have a wonderful dining experience. Just make sure you get reservations. My boyfriend and I were the first ones in the restaurant and by the time we left (about an hour or so later) the place was packed. Btw, the cocktails are also super yummy and not overbearing. We'll be back!!!
This is our favorite local restaurant - located in the heart of Black Forest. Cozy & charming atmosphere; personal/attentive service.I’m addicted to their award-winning Bulgogi/Korean sticky street noodles; my husband loves the Chilean sea bass. Oh, and their gourmet cocktails are a work of art (thanks, Amanda!).Last night’s special menu appetizers were steamed clams in a mouth-watering sauce and “Sushi Nachos”, creatively presented with Ahi tuna atop homemade wonton crisps. Delicious! Many thanks to the owner/Chef, Deanna, and her team for an always enjoyable experience.
My wife and I went for Saint Patricks day. It was a great atmosphere with live music, subtle flute and guitar, not overwhelming for the space. They had a custom menu for the holiday with some special drinks too. The staff were all very friendly and the drinks and food were delicious and cooked perfectly.
We had very high hopes due to many recommendations and high reviews, but unfortunately we were quite disappointed. We came to Black Forest Bistro on Valentine's weekend. We made reservations, but still waited about 45 minutes for a table. We didn't mind too much because the bartender was wonderful and her custom drink menu was so fun. The cocktails were amazing!Once seated we were not greeted by anyone for another 10 -20 minutes. Our server was too busy, so another server covered us and she was lovely. We ordered the brussel sprout appetizer, the Korean beef noodles, and the special of sea bass. The restaurant was very full and I agree with previous reviews about it being too loud. There was a musician in the corner, but we couldn't hear him at all. Our appetizer came out in about 20 minutes and tasted fine. Nothing special. Our frustration came waiting for our entrees. Our reservation was at 6 pm and at 8 pm we were still waiting for our food. I know this because I was texting my babysitter updates. All the tables previously there had left and 3 new tables were seating. All of them ordered as we were waiting for our entrees and actually received their entrees before ours. We were quite disappointed we had to wait over an hour after our appetizer and after others who came after us for our food. We felt the Korean beef was quite gristly and the sea bass was okay. We did voice our concern about being at the restaurant for 3 hours due to waiting for a table, food, or our server. We were offered a complimentary dessert which was a kind gesture but did not really help our opinion. We left a little after 9 pm.I am taking 1 star for the wait and obnoxious amount of time everything took, 1 star for the quality of food, and another for the price. Our bill was much steeper than we would have thought for the quality and quantity. There were also no soup, salad, or bread options either which would have been nice.Again the server and bartender were great! Cute place. We'd go just for cocktails, but not the food.We love supporting small businesses, but we cannot support the Black Forest Bistro.
Fabulous menu with creative and interesting flavors. Wines by the glass were great. Guitarist Michael Reese played for us in the dining room. This is a must try.
An outstanding place to eat. Wonderful atmosphere amazing thoughtfully prepared food. The sea bass special was fantastic.
Definitely recommend for an anniversary!! They gave us a nice card with a small box of chocolates with a complimentary slice of cake. The staff was absolutely lovely and had a live band playing. This place went over and beyond for our special night. The food is absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection. Will definitely come back here again!
Wow. This place is a hidden gem. Ahmaazing!!! Everything was excellent and chef inspired. Service was top notch from the hostess to the runners ;) loved it so much!!!!
