Just a friendly reminder that this place lies to its employees about their pay rate upon hiring them. Very illegal. No place in moden society for such scumbags.
This episode happened 6.25.22 at 6:25 pm. Love Billy Simms' pulled pork. Stopped by to pick some up. Two of the employees were standing outside smoking. They went inside and started handling food. One did put on gloves, but then went to help the other person at the cash register, touching it and then card scanner then her ear, then back to working with the food. I decided that I wasn't going to get pulled pork with this poor attention to food safety, hygiene in the restaurant.
Great service try the loaded baked potato.. nice n fresh excellent friendly staff decent pricing. You can't go wrong!!
Nothing like Caldwell county, Texas bar be que. The food wasn't even hot. Mac and cheese was cool and gross, almost like paste.
We haven't had barbecue in a long time. This hit the spot! Our party of three had: 1. Rib special (half rack ribs) with sides: mac and cheese, and bbq beans. 2. BBQ pork sandwich with a side of potato salad, 3. Three meat special (sausage links, brisket, hot links) with sides: BBQ beans and potato salad. Good food where we will most likely return.
Decided we would try something new and wanted bbq.. with a menu so small to be out pf anything was insane... no baked potatoes... this was so awful ? very dry like it sat for days... beans tasted like a can... ate what we could then had to go for fast food... not worth the money
Stopped in for take out lunch, purchased the 2 meat plate, chicken and sausage, with beans and classic potato salad. Though the sides were the best part of the meal, I can't say much more for the meats. Both were over cooked and dried out with no flavor, and 3 of the BBQ sauce cups could not help. The buttered bread was so soaked I could clog my artiries. I might try again with a different selection but now my hopes aren't high..Update. Apparently the company don't read reviews and only reply generic to the stars posted.Update 3-31-2022... Decided to give this place a 2nd try. NOT much better. $13 for a brisket sandwich no bigger than my palm and bread that was so smashed it was sitting under a cinder block. The brisket was tasteless. Even the BBQ sauce was no help. For the sides tried the mac' and cheese that tasted like powder. The potato salad was soso. Bagged the meal at the register and didn't hand it to me, had to reach across to get it myself. Got down the road and realized they gave me no utensils to eat with. Thankfully I had some at work. Still not impressed.
The only true BBQ place in this city is Rudy's and I am actually from Oklahoma but every time I stop by I get old overdried burned ends and no flavor save your time and wait in line for Rudy's like everyone else who know BBQ around here
Stopped in for some BBQ tonight and man I was blown away by the BBQ. I got the 3 meat plate and inhaled it! Highly recommend stopping in for some good BBQ. Low key feel like the side portions could’ve been bigger but I’m also just a fatty. The portion sizes of the meats were on pointtt! The 2 staff members on duty tonight were on top of it tonight with speedy service and a pleasant demeanor! The kickin buffalo sauce with any of the meat choices is where it’s at! If you’re looking for an appetizing meal that will leave you with the itis look no further! ??✌???
The BBQ is very tasty, and flavorful. We had the Hiesman sandwich with a side and a drink for about $12 and were plenty satisfied. The flavor comparison in my opinion has a better flavor profile than Rudy's although don't get me wrong Rudy's is very good but this was just better. You should definitely give it a try.
