Great location, but hotel needs TLC! Our room had broken phones as well as a knob on the tub that fell off! Plenty of room but AC wasn’t too good! I was hot! Hope they spruce up! Breakfast was great this morning! Omelets were tasty! Lots of choices from cereal to sausage.
The hotel was clean and room was well stocked. Little dated but otherwise nice. Breakfast was excellent. The only issue we encountered was our room was not ready at check in. It was probably close to 6pm before we were given a room. This is after we had checked in on the Hilton App and provided an estimated arrival time. Little annoying but still a nice hotel.
We rented a large block of rooms at The Embassy Suites in Colorado Springs for a wedding event. It is abundantly clear that the Owner is not spending proper capital on normal repairs and maintenance. For example- The hotel is horribly dated with an internal atrium with 4 elevators to serve floors 2 to floor 4. As of July 15, 2022, three of the four elevators were out of service with the excuse that parts are not available. So, guests are required to lug their suitcases up fire stairs to gain access to their room. And as one comes and goes to the 4th Floor the access is via the fire stairwells that are poorly lighted! Second, Colorado Springs is hot in the summer with normal temperatures in July in the 90’s or warmer. Between Wednesday night through Sunday the Air Conditioning at The Embassy Suites was broken and the guest rooms were brutally hot requiring open windows at late night once the outside temperatures dropped below 80 degrees. Hence the noise from Interstate 25 flooded our room. Impossible to sleep. Management’s statement was that the maintenance staff was working on the circulation pump for the chilled water. Really? They don’t have a contract with an Air Conditioning Contractor who specializes in these systems? I spent my career in the real estate investment business. No on site maintenance staff can possibly fix a system of this size. The only logical answer is the Owner is cutting corners. The final straw was the function room where we held a private party for 150 guests. It was at least 85 and possibly 90 degrees from 6pm until 10 pm. The blessing is none of the elderly guests fainted from the heat. Management supplied 2 Portable fans to “Cool” the room. And, did supply ice water. This behavior bordered on negligent. Management did not offer any refunds to my knowledge as clearly the entire hotel would have been entitled to one. If Embassy Suites has not begun to revoke the Owners “Flag” as an Embassy Suites, they certainly will shortly. This is an absolute disaster and there are plenty of other Limited Service hotels in Colorado Springs that are at the same price point and provide a well maintained physical plant. AVOID this hotel at all cost.
We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Colorado Springs while on a family vacation. The first floor atrium and the breakfast area were nicely remodeled. Unfortunately, two of the four elevators were broken. The rooms were older and not remodeled. Our room was not clean. There were child lip prints and fingerprints all over the sliding glass door. Our room was on the 4th floor on the freeway side of the hotel. We could hear the traffic clearly. It didn’t bother me because I considered it “white noise.” I am an extremely heavy sleeper. Nothing usually wakes me up. Unfortunately, I was woken at 5:00am by the chime from someone’s car in the parking lot below. The person had the keys in the ignition with the door open. The windows of our room were so old and thinly paned that I could hear it in my 4th floor room with the windows closed!! My husband and I went to breakfast at 8am. The food was pretty standard. The gentleman working the room, clearing tables was really friendly and kind. When my son went down for breakfast at 9:20 they were out of most of the food. They closed at 9:30 so it would have been nice if the cooks could have found something for him. Finally, as we were packing up to go, there was a truck doing something with a dumpster. It had it’s backup beep sound on for 20+ minutes! We heard it in the room then when we were in the parking lot. My husband was so frustrated trying to pack the car with the never ending sound. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel. We won’t be staying at this location again.
First for the good. The room size was nice with the separate seating area The breakfast was good and the free drinks in the evening were a nice extra. The employees were kind at the front desk, the bartender was extremely nice, and the food from the bar was actually pretty good considering. Now for the areas that need improvements. The rooms need to be updated. The mattress made you roll to the middle. They put these soft mattress covers on the beds probably to cover up the fact they need replaced. I could not sleep on the bed due to the sinking mattress so tried the sofa bed. You were literally sleeping on springs so that didn't work. I paid over $200 per night to sleep on a couch which was not comfortable either. The showers had a weird set up to turn the shower/faucet on. My complaint is not so much with the handle; however, it did contribute to the scolding when not sure how to switch it off when getting scolded. The issue was the water temperature did not have a thermostat limit. Several of us literally almost scolded our skin due to the lack of a control on the hot water. This could be dangerous for kids and adults. Also, we booked a mountain view room but the view was blocked by trees so that should not be considered mountain view. The worst of the whole experience was the elevators. Two of the four were out when we got there. Then a third went out so 3 out of 4 elevators did not work. Of course, the one that did work was on the farthest end of the hotel from our room. We took the stairs but that was not fun after long days of hiking. I still gave the hotel 3 stars as I would not consider it gross as some stated in reviews below. It did not feel dirty or like I wouldn't allow my family to stay there (that happened at a hotel at a later stop on our trip so I have something to compare it to). I just think these inconveniences especially the elevator should be accounted for in room rates when you are not getting basic amenities as advertised. I will not stay here again unless those things are corrected. The person at the front desk said they had three quotes from elevator repair vendors and were just waiting on corporate to choose one but looking back at reviews now, there have been reviews that the elevators have been out for a while so it sounds like it should have already been repaired. I wish I had seen that review before going as I will not stay there again without elevators.
Awful awful awful. Not a true Embassy Suites, seems like they’re trying to conceal problems and somehow pass this off as an Embassy Suites. Shame on Hilton. This place was leaking water in lobby, buckets literally catching water, pool area leaking, rooms smelled of old smoke and mildew, bathrooms disgusting, 2 elevators were broken and the one working was filthy dirty! We checked out within 10 minutes of checking in. Do NOT stay here if u are expecting Embassy Suites quality.
We stayed at this hotel years ago. We enjoy the breakfast & the location is convenient. But, with the convenience, you get the annoyance of the noises of interstate keeping you up. The manager's reception was much more scaled back than in previous years. Expect a couple of basic drinks & very little in the way of snacks. The bedroom no longer had a door to separate it from the living room, which we found odd. It would have helped with the noise from the hallway along with the light coming in from the window to the hallway. Overall, we did not consider it a place we would recommend or go back to ourselves. The only redeeming factor was the breakfast. We were on the 4th floor & although the AC was running, it never did cool the room effectively.
This hotel is just ok. Pros: the young woman who checked us in was wonderful. I can’t remember her name (dark, curly hair, pulled back, headband) but she checked us in around 8 or 9pm. Super kind and helpful. Breakfast was great. Lots to eat, omelette station, coffee, drinks, hot and cold stuff. Excellent. Beds were comfortable. Suites are big and have balconies which is especially cool if you have a Mountain View. Cons: Broken elevators Rooms could be cleaner. One of our guests found an ant in the bed (which happens- it was just an ant). In room coffee maker was dirty so we couldn’t use it. Definitely needs an update. I wouldn’t say it’s run down it’s just a little tired. One room’s door wouldn’t lock without great effort. Tiny bathroom and tiny tub. Tub didn’t drain. Not enough functioning plugs. The lamp plugs didn’t work near the bed. I’m a CPAP user so I need a plug near the bed.
We stayed here for almost a week. The breakfast was good. Except when they stopped putting waffles out at 9:30 when breakfast didn’t end till 10. Then the cook at the omelette station was rude. Even gave me the wrong omelette! This was an older hotel. The staff said they are remodeling and bringing it up to Embassy standards. Room was ok. Sofa bed wasn’t comfy at all. I’ve stayed at other Embassy Suites which were much better.
Always such friendly staff and good food. The chocolate cake is pretty amazing
