Went in for some menudo, and I got in a Coke-cola cup. Plus i got more of the juice than anything. I understand it was the last hour of it being open but still should have got it in a bowl for wanting to eat there. This my 1st time bring there and don't an to go back there again.
So to be honest, We ate from here when we moved to the neighborhood in 2018 and for the life of me, I can't remember why we thought it was subpar. A friend of mine told me to try it again, so I ordered the Carnitas Quesadilla.I was amazed. Flavorful, good portions. I ate it and can't remember why we didn't follow our normal, "Give it two tries rule".This is in my top three now for Mexican Restaurants. The other two, like this one, taste authentic...plus Tatas has a good sized menu. Which was fine, because I had time to read it. When I came in, it took five or six minutes to be noticed at the counter. The gentleman apologied and said, "I'm so sorry, the bell usually rings and we hear it". I chuckled and said, "Hard to to that when the doors were propped open" as I looked at them. He apologized and said they were getting a delivery, which was true, so I didn't hold that against them.I'll definitely be back. I want to try thier breakfast burrito. They have large shoes to fill on that since I go to the same spot religiously and glorify it to my friends. But from what I just had, if it's half as good as that quesadilla, I don't think I'll be disappointed.
Food is not fresh here any more. Ordered burritos in the morning and they seemed to be made out of meet from the day prior. I hope they read this so that they can regain my trust and others' as I feel more people noticed it as well
I have been a long time Tata’s fan. Every Saturday morning is Juevos Rancheros breakfast day. Great burritos. Great combo plates. And all sorts of items to choose from.
First the good - the order was taken accurately, the portion size was good and the food arrived relatively quickly. Now the other shoe. My wife and wished the food arrived hot. The tables were generally dirty and after looking at three booths, we chose the least dirty table to sit at. The store was empty, and that should have been a clue. The taste of our burritos was OK. My wife liked her burrito (though the bacon was to thick). I was longing for the ketchup. As a note - none of the staff was wearing a mask - if that is a thing for you.
Best burritos ever seen they actually try. I always get the steak egg potatoes and cheese is so good.
Asked for a chicken enchilada and a beef enchiladas with no onions. Was told meat is cooked with onion. I understood and still got it but what i wasn't expecting was two ALL onion enchiladas with literally no meat within either. I tossed it- never will i go there again. And i recommend to all: rethink what you order or ordering from here if you don't favor onions. My only regret is not stopping long enough to get and show pictures of proof... i hope this post saves at least one person from what I've been through.
Authentic Mexican cuisine. Great breakfast burrito choices. Specials everyday.
Ordered 2 combo breakfast plates with green chili and a horchata. Young man taking orders thought I said taco plates and corrected me saying they didn't have breakfast taco plates. Came up to window he handed me my drink and one plate. When I told him my order (for the third time) he told me I never said that. I'm at your business giving you my money. Sadly I feel like it will be the last time they get my cash. Too bad because it has been a go to for me and my family for years. All I takes is one bad interaction. To top it off the plate came with red sauce. Huge fail!
I had the machaca breakfast burrito (the only one without potatoes) smothered in green chili. It was delicious, filling, and at about 6$ it was a solid value. We were planning to eat in, but there was an awful sewer smell throughout the dining area that almost drove me to leave. Hopefully this is temporary; for now I recommend drive through! This is why I have it 4 stars and not 5, but I will try again in the future.
