Went to pick someone's food up for Uber eats. The place was a ghost town. The Girl was eating at the pick up counter and they didn't even have the order ready. The building is run down and dirty in a back lot ( very creepy). I'm glad I was able to experience it without having to spend the money because I can assure you that I would NEVER eat here. Discussing!
This place looks like it's abandoned! Put in a order online and it never updated. So I drove down there and it was locked up. Sign out side says "pick up orders for door dash and grub hub only" . Went to the drive through and told them my name. They handed me a luke warm, soggy plastic bag. Did not have my full order in it and all the food looked like yesterday's trash. Ribs were only bones, no meat on them. Brisket was not sliced, just flakes of meat. First time going to Dickies, never going back. My daughter says the only thing good here was the bread. Spent $60. Not worth it!
I recently relocated from South Carolina so the standards are pretty high. The pulled pork was mushy and some big hunks of fat to contend with. The brisket was dry over glorified pot roast. Green beans and okra were both pretty salty. I will need to continue my search for something better. Maybe being part of the early lunch crowd is not their sweet spot.I hope your meal here is better than mine.
First of all, really want to say that I really appreciate the staff at this location - they're always hard at work and very dedicated to delivering accurate orders and delicious food. If you're picking up an order have a little patience because they're likely cooking or working on something to make the food right; although, most of the time orders are usually waiting for me in the warmer by the time I arrive. The Dickey's Barbecue Pit on Arapahoe is awesome. They've saved me tons of times and have never let me down, and their food is delicious and always loved by everyone. Why am I saying they've saved me tons of times? They're my go to place for getting food for larger family gatherings and even for catering events with friends/family, especially when I have guests that show up that same day or within an hour or two of calling. The brisket, the pulled pork, the dinner rolls, any of the sides - it's all great and people always love it. Once I only got larger sides from them - and it went great with the home made prime rib. Another time, I purchased food from them and "fixed" it up to sort of make it my own - not that their food really needs any fixing; but these were snobby guests and it was a huge success (sorry Dickey's, only did that once). The restaurant allows one to place large orders online, which I honestly just found out about within the last year and it's great, usually I had placed orders on Ubereats or just gone to the restaurant to place an order. They allow one to place large family-sized orders right at the store or even the drive through; but, for catering I'd suggest giving them a heads up. I think it was Mothers Day last year that they ran out of brisket; but they made up for it with their pulled pork and by throwing in a few extras which I didn't even expect and greatly appreciated. As for eating at the restaurant - can't really comment on that experience; but it usually seems like there's available seating and it's usually families. They seem to have a buffet or self-serve area on the sides and based on signs it's the same cost regardless of how much you take (not sure if that includes seconds); so guess that's good if your hungry - personally, I don't like buffets because they tend to get messy and COVID is still a thing. On smaller orders - do check that you got the right sauces. I think they rush to pack the smaller orders and sometimes miss things like the sauces - which happened today; but the brisket's still amazing even without BBQ sauce.
Brisket was dry and lukewarm. The jalapeño sausage was cold inside. The pork ribs and sweet BBQ sauce were actually pretty tasty. Staff seemed distant and uninterested in serving us. Overall, a 2 or at best 2.5.
No offense to Dickey's but I do have places I rather go to eat bbq. Nonetheless, they have it all in a very nice set up for you to make it from point a to point b and navigate there menu. The pork may have been a little dry for my liking, and the collards seemed like they just came out of a can. But like i said they have it all, diffrent kinds of meats being smoked, lots of choices for sides. Everything is good there i would eat here again just not my 1st choice is all. To me there sweet bbq smells so delicious but what's the kicker is everytime i was about to eat it I would have visions of pancakes, maybe a little too much maple syrup idk. Free ice cream at the end pretty cool if you got kids.
Ordered delivery through DoorDash, can’t imagine my disappointment when our order arrived with no sauce and without the extra pickles. Imagine bbq without sauce and pickles ?Changed them to a five star and sent this response, because they did reach out :-)Howdy,I truly appreciate you wanting to make things right with my order, but I only posted the review because I was disappointed, not to get something. The food we got was great, well, except I didn't care for the banana pudding, but my wife enjoyed it. I understand mistakes happen. No harm, no foul, and we will order from Dickey's Again. In the future though, make sure people get their sauce and pickles ;-)Thanks,
Tasty BBQ, lots of sides choices, and friendly staff! Dining area was a little dated and restroom was a little grimy. We enjoyed all we ordered, especially the brisket and peach ? cobbler with ? ice cream!
It was a nice way to get out of the house and have lunch. I was shocked they still have a self serve buffet and the cleanliness could definitely be better. But my daughter enjoyed the ribs and the option for ice cream for dessert. So it was a win for her.
Will always be 5 star food however last week my partner and I went for ribs and they were out! So we went to red Robin. We returned this week and they remembered us and gave us 10% off our meal for last weeks inconvenience. Thank you!!!!
