This is one of the best cocktail bars I have visited in the US or Europe. Tran is a wealth of knowledge. Go early, linger over a few cocktails. Everything we had was outstanding. Be prepared to have your cocktail horizons stretched.

Fantastic mixed drinks

They embarrassed me in front of my date for not leaving enough tip. The drinks were massively and unexpectedly expensive ($45 per shot) and literally a pour from a bottle into a glass (no mixing, time, or skill required). The server actually confronted me about a tip in front of my date. The tip reflected the effort that went into pouring a shot in a glass. I used to come here all the time. For years. I will NEVER return and recommend you be careful what you order. No honor.

Love coming to this place for cocktails. Great atmosphere and happy hour deals.

James and the amazing cocktails is the reason we’ll be back. Such a cool spot and amazing service.

Amazing drinks and staff. I’ve gone numerous times, but my most recent visit was really above and beyond with Kiwi taking me through a bunch of their selections. Everything they make is impeccable, but their service made the most recent visit a truly great experience.

Incredible drinking experience here. The bitter bar is like an old school cocktail lounge brought into the 21st century. Their mixologists are probably the best in Boulder, and I've never had a bad drink there.

My sister and I went to Bitter Bar last night for a pre-dinner cocktail. The waiter was great helping me decide what cocktail to order. In the end I decided on a drink a bartender made for me at another bar I was at a few days prior. The waiter came back a few minutes later to ask if I wanted a different drink. I said no and he went back to the bar. The owner then comes to me and asks if I wanted a slightly different drink. After I, once again, said no, he asks me what the name of the drink I ordered was. I said I didn’t think it had a name as a bartender elsewhere made it for me and I think he made it up. He then says (very loudly) “Oh, so you’re asking me to make this drink in MY house?!” We should’ve left, but we didn’t. I would never go back for sure. Not sure I’ve been treated so rudely EVER!

I really wanted to like this place, it was a must stop when we visited Boulder. The drinks were great but the staff treated us like idiots when we were choosing a place to sit and then our server was shockingly rude to us. At one point, he asked us how we were doing, then after we said "fine" took a long pause in front of us TO CHECK HIS WATCH! He talked down to us so much I kept turning and saying "he really does not want to be serving us" and we were literally just quietly sitting by the fire drinking. It was foolish of him because we typically spend a lot and tip 30% but we couldn't stomach more. Another server came by, skinny with glasses who I observed was really good at his job and was nice and efficient. The atmosphere was cool and the drinks were good but as an out of towner, I wouldn't recommend.
