So I'm currently sitting here at Salt in Boulder Colorado, and so far I've started with the bruddle sprouts, octopus and my 12 Oz Ribeye just came along with my Yukon potatoes and my zucchini and yellow squash. To start, I'm a bit of an idiot and didn't even realize the time when I first walked in. They were closed since it was about 4:15 pm but they were kind enough to share thr dinner menu and the specials menu. From there I saw the steak options and felt like that would be a nice way to celebrate a personal celebration with a friend. The Sriracha, lime, beet humus and almonds were pleasantly presented and delicious. The tangyness of the lime fought ferociously with the sweetness of the pickled onion and with perfectly roasted Brussel sprouts as the referee the match was amazing and delicious. The octopus with curried carrot puree, candied bacon and bok choy were a really nice combination of flavors and textures. The octopus was cooked perfectly. With great anticipation I finally made it to the main course. A beautifully prepared medium temp 12 ounce rib eye that had drawn me in to begin with. I chose the shallot cabernet butter and just lightly applied anough to make the steak glisten and my God it is exceptional. The pieces have melted in my mouth. Highly recommend that you do not salt and pepper it yourself because it doesn't need it! The Yukon potatoes are also delicious and so are the grilled vegetables. This place is cute, warm and inviting. The bar forces conversations since there is no tv but that's more my style anyways. Great service, and great food make this a repeated destination for sure! 5 stars, and a Bravo Zulu from this soldier!

Great location and parking is nearby. We were sat downstairs and felt super private. The wines and drinks were excellent, I’d recommend the old fashioned, it was mellow and delicious. We ordered several appetizers, all of which were very good. We inquired about nuts as we had two nut allergies and the server said “oh no, no nuts”, but when they came out there were multiple dishes with nuts on them. Service was very fast for bringing out the main course. I ordered the burger and was disappointed. Burger was cooked perfectly medium-rare, but so wet and oily it fell apart by the second bite. The octopus was worth the risk, it was the highlight. Service was top-notch, but kinda hit and miss for the food.

We had a dinner of two and it the was a lovely experience. The cocktails were delicious. My steak was cooked clean, and perfectly seasoned. 100% grass fed and grass finished. My friend had the gnocchi and it was amazing, especially with the meat tomato sauce. The interior of the restaurant is intricately rusty yetmodern. We love the historic Red brick walls

Exceptional dinner, and one of my favorite places to dine. I had the golden bowl cocktail, scallops with succotash and the chocolate tart. A true foodies delight! Lily my waitress was so warm and happy and the restaurant had such a great vibe. Can't wait to return for brunch!

Salt is what this restaurant lacks. Foods are under-seasoned and over-priced. Specific comments in photo captions. Cannot believe I paid $45/person for this. The star is for the beer.

The best part of the Salt dining experience was the bloody mary. Excellent...spicy and strong, exactly how I like it! Our food was served quickly. My partner liked the Tom'sburger. My powerhouse salad was skimpy on all but greens. Other than that, it was a good experience.

Fun location & vibe. Food was ok, service was fine. Nothing extraordinary or memorable, but not bad either. We were seated by the serving area & the overall restaurant is loud (if that matters to you). My salmon was delicious, but overpriced for portion & content in my opinion.

If you are looking for a nostalgic evening in Boulder, visit the old "Tom's Tavern" now called "Salt" on the west end of the Pearl Street Mall where they still serve the best burger in town. Named after Tom, the former mayor of Boulder and owner of the Tavern, it comes with excellent fries. There are also vegetarian and vegan versions to satisfy all. The stone walls are a reminder of all that is and was great about Boulder. Salt continues the tradition. Enjoy.

What a complete joke this place is!! DO NOT BOOK YOUR LARGE PARTY EVENT AT THIS RESTAURANT. I tried booking my wedding reception at SALT and it was an absolute mess. I dealt with an “event coordinator” named Sage for six weeks while I begged for details on a food menu or even getting a contract sent over. Six weeks and not one ounce of progress was made! Every correspondence back from them came at least a week after I would reach out. Every email was full of excuses about this and that, with a promise of getting back to me as soon as possible. Again, at least a week would go by without hearing back from them. In his last email to me, Sage wrote “I haven’t been giving it the time that it deserves. I apologize for the lack of quick communication, it is my fault and I promise to improve that” and “I’ll be able able to reach out by the end of our service tonight”. Fair enough, I’m understanding and patient. However, I waited 11 days and never heard anything back again. I tried calling the restaurant twice to speak with the GM in hopes of bringing this to their attention and to see if there was someone else I could work with on booking my wedding reception. They never answered the phone once, and I never received a call back. Hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Don’t even waste your time with this joke of a place, and book your large event somewhere else. They simply do not care and they don’t want your business!
