We found this place for dinner after hiking at RMNP. We had a two-meat dinner of brisket and chicken, with fries and cole slaw. Brisket was good, chicken was good (not dried out like we've experienced at numerous other bbq places around the country), fries were good, cole slaw was so-so. The meat portions seemed to be on the small side in my opinion. Nothing outstanding that will make us want to come back if we're in the area again, but good enough.
Went in for 1/2 Lb brisket to go just now. Requested a serving from the point/fatty side and was told “we haven’t got to that part of the brisket. It’s bad for the brisket if we start cutting that side.” Srsly? News flash: it’s not bad for the brisket to cut from either the flat, the point or both. It’s bad for me, the customer, if you don’t give me what I am paying for. And bad for you, the BBQ shop. So, now knowing this I guess I’ll make the trip up to Georgia Boys in Longmont or down to Wayne’s in Superior where they know how to cut. And, for what it’s worth, the portion I got was dry anyway, so sparing the point didn’t help in that regard.
I ordered some sandwiches with sauce on the side because I live 20 minutes away. The cook came out and told me the bartender said I didn’t order my food correctly and that I was in the wrong. I told her I would buy new sandwiches and leave the first ones there for someone to eat. She said she didn’t like shrimp and that I could only have one new sandwich. I told the bartender I was happy to pay triple the amount, I just wanted the sandwiches the way I had ordered them. He told me she was making them and that he was getting annoyed with the whole situation. I just took the original order and left. I still can’t believe what I heard in there. I really loved Moes. Wow.
Always good food, great service and fast!Never that busy. You can always find a table.
The sauce was very good, which is the backbone of any good bbq place. The meat was very tender and juicy, along with the sides, it was a very good meal.
Travel to Boulder for work often and I have to go to Moe's every trip at least once. Brisket and pulled pork are amazing, but they hands down have the best catfish I've ever had. The sides are no joke either, great hush puppies, cornbread and boudin balls, but the fried okra is out of this world.
BBQ was trash an so was the service, cornbread was hard as a rock an I’m not sure what you wanna call the banana pudding straight up get those kids outta of the bar an get some adults to run the place.
This place is amazing! Love their specials every day of the week! Pastrami day on Wednesdays are my favorite! Staff is extremely friendly and always remembers me and my friends who come in often! 5 stars!
I found myself with short-notice having Thanksgiving plans fall through. I called the store 2 days before Thanksgiving and the owner Mike happened to answer. He was so kind. He said he'd find a way to save enough for a Thanksgiving meal for me even though it had been about a week since he stopped taking orders. It meant so very much to me that he was so kind and generous. When I went to pick up the food I mentioned to the cashier how kind he had been to me and she said "He's the best boss ever!"
Really good chicken and brisket. Super juicy and smokey.
