Very delicious Mexican burritos and their Green Chilli sauce is best, I had horchata everytime I visited Efrain’s. Quantity wise its a lot and well worth the price, wait time could be 15-20 mins after ordering.
Probably the best Mexican food in Boulder. Great Spicy options but also not so spicy. Chips and salsa are amazing. Very reasonable prices. My experiences they don't do reservations and it can be hard to get in especially on Fridays and Saturdays, so I often do take out.
I called to get carry out and I ordered fajitas. The girl told me they won’t do fajitas to go??? I decided to order some enchiladas and a bunch of sides to make my own fajitas. The girl explained to me I couldn’t order a side of cheese, only chili con queso??? So I said fine I’ll have that I guess. I got home with my order and the order was completely wrong including some insanely spicy beef stew looking thing and like a tomato soup. The enchiladas were so drowning in tomato sauce I could even figure out what they were! Absolutely terrible experience. The beans and rice were good so at least I got to eat something. I don’t know how this place has been around for so long.
The service was excellent! I ordered a burrito mixed with chicken and ground beef and it was great! The place was not too busy and the atmosphere was welcoming.
We love Efrains! The food is absolutely delicious and the service is fantastic! The coin margarita is excellent, and highly recommend the shredded beef burrito, relleno and the enchiladas! Cute little patio - such a great neighborhood spot.
Excellent food and service, highly recommend for authentic Mexican cuisine. My sister has been raving about their food for forty years. Although this may be new location, it has same great food.
Well, if you want great food, decent prices and great service, this the place. Located in an industrial building, but don't let that change your mind. Their food is some of the best Mexican food in Boulder, so GO!!!
Disappointing $8.50 margaritas. Weak. Too much ice. Go to their other restaurant in Longmont for far better margs. Their green chile here however is screaming hot, in a good kind of way. Ambiance? The Longmont location has it hands down.
The service is ALWAYS 100% prompt and friendly! Freshly made coffee is on point.Seating is nicely planned with good lighting. If you are accustom, to DenMex; you will love their fresh food.P.S. This IS that out of the way, from Boulder metro....use it as a sweet, quick, date get-away.Or just eat outside and enjoy, the view. This IS a LOCAL favorite and family run. Ask about Vegetarian alternatives, and what works for you. They will help with good, suggestions.
AVOID this restaurant. Apparently the only customers who matter are regulars who order lots of alcohol. Those clients are warmly greeted and are served promptly. Everyone else waits. And waits. There is a sign on the wall that serves as a warning not to expect prompt service and that's the one truth I can affirm about Efrain's of Boulder. Food is greasy at best and is drowned in cheap sauce. Taco Bell is actually better. Efrain's staff is indifferent and sullen, service is extremely slow. Your order will almost invariably be screwed up by the server. You will wait an eternity for a menu and for your food, and don't expect any help from a manager. That person stays behind the bar and ignores everyone except the alkies crowding around it. Clearly this restaurant exists to serve expensive rotgut to boozers who haunt it just to get drunk. Finally, the site itself is a deteriorated dump dying to be demolished. The booths and tables are old, and as another has noted, the springs poking through the fabric will goose you up the backside. The dining rooms appear not to have been cleaned in a decade. Avoid the bathrooms at all costs. In short, take your business somewhere other than Efrain's of Boulder.
